Wolverine carries darkness like a few other Marvel characters. Darkness stained his life’s journey, giving us the beloved character we all know and adore.

You could not ask for a greater friend. His abilities are fairly basic. In essence, he has bone claws, one of the best healing factors, and increased senses. And we must admit, Hugh Jackman’s illustrious run as the Wolverine gave us plenty of edge-of-the-seat moments.

Wolverine Movies In Chronological Order

If you haven’t seen any of the Wolverine movies yet, we think this piece will be incredibly helpful to you. As we’ll explain what order you should think about watching them in order to ensure that you can comprehend everything about the films without becoming confused.

Do you intend to memorize the order? Do not forget to add it to your list of Wolverine movies.

1. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

Both the first and second viewings of this movie were highly praised by the audience. a fantastic genesis tale. This film was no X-men First Class, but it was still worth seeing.

Unless you’re a bitter edge lord. Other side characters, like Wade Wilson, were poorly executed, as Deadpool noted. So disregard it.

The bike and helicopter scenario was the best scene in the entire movie, which was really amazing and included great action scenes. And one of our favorite scenes from this was the Adamantine moment.

2. X-Men: First Class (2011)

Given that it features the initial team of Mutants, this one should have to be released before the first X-Men film. It depicts what occurred after mutants became known at a time when no one knew they existed.

It recounts Magneto’s terrible past and the origin of Professor X, as well as why he is the way he is. Even yet, he ends up being more of a hero than a villain in this film.

Since everyone has already seen Wolverine, Cyclops, Rogue, and all of the other main characters from the older X-Men movies, fans also believe that using less well-known characters was a smart move.

Additionally, this way, it can still be tied in with all of the other movies. Characters that fans have never heard of piqued their attention. It recounts the ancestry of several well-known mutants, like Magneto and Professor Charles Xavier. Almost the entire cast gave very good performances.

James McAvoy, who played Xavier brilliantly, Michael Fassbender, who played Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence, who played Mystique, and Kevin Bacon, who played the major adversary Sebastian Shaw, deserve special recognition.

McAvoy and Fassbender had the most enticing on-screen connection. The plot was well written and kept you interested. A few of the liberties committed may disappoint die-hard comic book fans, but they won’t ruin the movie.

3. X-Men: Days Of Future Past (2014)

X-Men: Days of Future Past successfully merges the two X-Men movie franchises in a thrilling adventure across time and space that illustrates why so much of the movie’s cast are considered stars [although Halle Berry is still terribly miscast].

The film is an adaptation of a story that ran in late 1980 in The Uncanny X-Men issues #141 & #142. In that story, the future was 2013.

The X-men that remain alive in 2013, along with Magneto, hatch a plan to use the mutant power of a woman named Rachel Summers [don’t ask about her origin, it will just hurt your head] to send the consciousness of one of the X-men back in time to 1980, into the body of their younger self, to stop an act that caused the horrific timeline.

They decide to send Kitty Pryde (Shadowcat). Since she only joined the team two issues earlier, her 1980 self was not yet trained to block psychic attacks [for that is what the transfer of consciousness would be perceived as].

Kitty must convince her teammates that she really has come from the future and together they must stop Mystique from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly.

The movie is well structured, managing to flip back and forth between the two time periods while giving more than a dozen characters their moments to shine. Right from the beginning of the film, comic book fans are treated to seeing some of their favorite X-Men characters adapted to film for the first time.

In a tense battle with the Sentinels, we see Blink, Sunspot, Bishop, and Warpath. Blink, in particular, is wonderfully showcased, using her teleportation powers to help her partners and stymy her foes.

X-Men: Days of Future Past has a number of positive aspects. It is thrilling. It’s a great movie. It features a lot of wonderful personalities. so forth. The fact that this movie completely disregards the fifth movie, X-Men: The Last Stand, may be its greatest strength.

To see a director purposefully undermine everything another director (Brett Ratner) accomplished is a little astonishing.

4. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)

A chaotic but unquestionably amusing entry to the X-Men series is X-Men: Apocalypse. Despite not living up to the hype of its predecessor, X-Men: Days of Future Past, the movie is nonetheless enjoyable in general.

Great scenes can be found in this film, especially the magnificent Quicksilver action scene.

With their abilities, the mutants in this were intense. Somewhat more than what was seen in earlier films. The beginning and closing sequences were fantastic. The middle, though, was stable.

Well, the middle of the movie did not have the typical climax that one would anticipate. It was sufficient to maintain the tension for the film’s conclusion and provide it with a stronger conclusion.

5. X-Men (2000)

“Mankind has always feared what it doesn’t understand.” – Magneto

Logan, a cage fighter with no memory of his past, and Rouge, a young adolescent on the run after hurting her boyfriend during an intimate hug, both find themselves the targets of Magneto and his Brotherhood of Mutants.

In order to help Logan remember his terrible history and teach Rouge how to control her powers, Professor Charles Xavier provides them a safe haven in his school for bright youth.

This movie was a true highlight in terms of CGI, action, special effects, and attractive performers in the year 2000. And if you’ve just started watching it, the actors are still gorgeous, and there are some thrilling scenes, but this movie now occasionally feels lethargic in comparison to what followed following.

Even while the film does a great job of introducing us to the main characters and the history of mutants. It does feel as though Wolverine, Professor X, Magneto, and Rouge are the center of the film the most, even though they are the best cast overall.

6. X2: X-Men United (2003)

This movie is a bit as good as the original X-Men film from Marvel, according to some fans. The storyline, which was influenced by the Marvel Comics X-Men story “God Loves, Man Kills,” involves the genocidal Colonel William Stryker leading an attack on Professor Xavier’s campus to build his own replica of Xavier’s mutant-tracking computer Cerebro in order to eliminate all mutants on Earth and “save” the human race from them.

This forces the X-Men to work together with the Brotherhood of Mutants, For a superhero movie at the time, the acting was superior to average.

The appropriate adaptations for characters like Nightcrawler and Pryo are made. It is true that Professor X and Magneto have a hostile relationship.

Although several crucial plot details are different from the original work, it is handled in a way that doesn’t detract from the main narrative. Both Magneto’s clothing and the X-attire Men’s receive a little upgrade.

7. X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)

According to spectators, this bland X-men movie doesn’t do any of its several plot threads credit. Due to a last-minute director change, Brett Ratner took over, and it is obvious that the movie lacks any distinctive direction and has an excessive number of main plot threads.

You have a plot about the mutant cure that meshes reasonably well with the one about Magneto’s pernicious Brotherhood, but it then adds to the Phoenix saga. So they use one of the most well-known X-men stories as the basis for what amounts to an extra plotline in the movie.

In addition, the film blatantly ignores Cyclops’ unforgivable death, and it’s terribly thin on other important topics. What do you think of this ‘not very much liked’ Wolverine movie?

8. The Wolverine (2013)

This movie picks up where X3 left off, where Wolverine is living as a beggar and is plagued by Jean Grey’s passing. James Mangold deserves praise for making sure that he no longer has any friends.

It validates the final film’s location in the timeline and places Wolverine in a worse situation than he has ever been. He runs across an enigmatic woman who informs him that he once saved the life of a Japanese millionaire who is currently dying and that he must go to Japan to meet him.

He goes there after agreeing. The man then says that he wants to use Wolverine’s healing abilities to become immortal while leaving Wolverine behind.

This, in the eyes of many, was yet another wise decision that pushes Logan into further darker territory. But because of his refusal, his powers are briefly taken away from him later on when he is asleep.

The events that follow challenge Wolverine in ways he has never been tested before as he struggles to manage his wounds while attempting to defend the billionaire’s granddaughter from the Yakuza.

9. Logan (2017)

Logan is an adaptation of the Marvel Comics character Old Man Logan. The future of the X-Men is grim, dark, and depressing, especially for Logan who is now exhausted. And torn from life and an open alcoholic who must take care of Professor X (Charles Xavier).

A telepathic medium, while assisting a new young mutant with the same abilities as himself with accelerated healing and titanium or anti-antium metal skeleton with indestructible metal claws, to flee from the grim reavers a group of criminal military cyborgs who are trying to recapture the young new mutant for their own evil purposes

In his final movie as the legendary character Wolverine, Hugh Jackman as Logan, often known as Wolverine, gives an outstanding performance. Patrick Stewart’s portrayal of Professor X is the same.

Everyone undoubtedly shed many tears when both of these characters passed away, despite the fact that I personally have never been a fan of FOX’s X-Men film series. Within two hours, everybody had a sense of connection to Logan and his quest to bring his cloned daughter back to Canada.

Overall, “Logan” is a unique experience that surprises you in unexpected ways. You’ll smile and cry when it’s time. And the final shot was flawless.

Wolverine is among the most favorite Marvel characters because even though he is practically immortal and cannot die, he is the most human of all Marvel heroes.

His long time spent living really allows writers to highlight the struggles of his life, he is a tortured character. Many things of his past haunted him and he had no real way to escape them through death.

Then there is also the idea that he is the animal. And the battle he has with his inner beast which ultimately could be looked at as a more dramatic version of our own struggles as we deal with our sometimes destructive human nature.
