Shawn Mendes Postpones ‘Wonder Tour’ for 3 Weeks to Focus on Mental Health

The There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back singer Shawn Mendes has decided to delay his Wonder Tour for 3 weeks to prioritise on his mental health. At the end of the day, mental heath is equally as important as the physical health.

Shawn Mendes has postponed his ‘Wonder Tour’ to take care of his mental health

On Friday, the 23-year-old singer took to his Instagram to share with his fans all over the world that he will be postponing his tour, titled “Wonder: The World Tour,” to take care of his mental health. He stated he needs some time away from the flashing cameras to reset.

“This breaks my heart to have to say this, but unfortunately I’m going to have to postpone the next three weeks of shows through Uncasville, CT until further notice,” he wrote on Instagram.

The Canadian singer further added, “I’ve been touring since I was 15 and to be honest it’s always been difficult to be on the road away from friends and family. After a few years off the road, I was ready to dive back in, but the decision was premature and unfortunately the toll of the road and the pressure has caught up to me and I’ve hit a breaking point.”

Mendes explained that after speaking with mental heath professionals and his team he was advised “to take some time to heal and take care of myself and my mental health, first and foremost.” He concluded by saying, “As soon as there are more updates I promise I will let you know love you guys.”

The celebs showed their support to Mendes’ decision

As soon as Shawn shared on the social media platform Instagram that he would be taking some time off his world tour to focus on his mental health, many of his fans and friends came forward to send him love.

The Don’t Give Up On Me singer Andy Grammar wrote, “Love you man- proud of you for doing what you need” meanwhile Think Like a Monk author Jay Shetty commented, “So much love for you ❤️❤️❤️❤️ proud of you for taking care of yourself”

A comment was also made by official account of Tommy Hilfiger that read, “Taking care of yourself is important. Thinking of you Shawn, we’ll be here to cheer you on when you’re ready to be back! ❤️”

The Let You Love Me singer Rita Ora commented, “Mental health and physical health is the most important. Protect it. See you on the other side my brother. Xx”

When did Shawn’s ‘Wonder Tour’ begin?

For those of you who are not unaware, let us tell you Mendes’ world tour started on June 27 in Portland, Oregon. It will swing through the United States in October and kickstart from May 2023 in the U.K. and Europe.
