Kristy Sellars is a pole dance aficionado and she is also an entrepreneur. She is a mum of three kids. The names of her three children are as follows: Rylie, Mason, and Ollie.
In addition to this, the Ballarat-based dancer also owns franchises of 17 PhysiPole studios all over Australia, including nine of them in Victoria, five in Queensland, two in the ACT/NSW, and one in South Australia, among others.
Kristy won ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ in 2019
Before becoming a part of America’s Got Talent, Kristy took part in Australia’s Got Talent and she ended up winning the show due to her artistry as a storyteller, which was also put together with the beautifully illustrated projections by Ryan Talbot who is a 22-year-old visual artist.
To date, Sellars’ performances in the Australian version of the contest have been viewed more than 48 million times on the social networking service Facebook. She worked hard and spent over 12 hours a day in the studio practicing her moves for nine days between the semi-finals and grand finale.
During an interaction with The Courier in 2019, Kristy said, “The pressure of having to make the biggest, best show in the shortest amount of time… was huge. Mentally, even after those 12 hours of training each day, it was so draining in every aspect.”
When did Kristy start pole dancing?
At the time, when Kristy began pole dancing, the art was not appreciated by the people and it was not even accepted by them with open arms. There was a lot of stigma that surrounded the art form.
Things changed when Kristy began showcasing her art at the national level it opened “people’s eyes to the possibility of what can be done” with a steel pole. In an interaction, the brilliant artist talked about the reception of pole dancing and she said, “We’ve got people messaging us directly and saying, ‘I just saw this on TV and now I want to do it.’”
