Liu Zuohu, the CEO of OnePlus announced that their company’s next-generation devices will come laden with Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 processors.
Despite there being no confirmation whether the OnePlus 10 series will be a part of this endeavor, it is pretty much obvious that the company’s upcoming flagship will be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor as well.
This announcement came after, Qualcomm released the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, and OnePlus is on the way to being the first phone maker that has this chipset in their phones. While the CEO did not confirm what the device will be, it is rumored to be either the OnePlus 10 or the OnePlus 10 Pro.
The Overpowered Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Chipset
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 will house a 4nm chip which is expected to deliver 4 times faster Artificial Intelligence and 30 percent faster rendering of graphics. Gamers are in for a treat with this setup!
The chipset also includes a 5G Mode-RF solution that boasts a delivery speed of 10 GB per second for downloading in a compatible network. It is powered by Kyro CPU with Arm Cortex-X2 technology clocked up to 3.0 GHz.
Release Date of OnePlus 10
While there is no official announcement about the release date of the OnePlus 10, it is expected to launch earlier in 2022. Both OnePlus 10 and OnePlus 10 Pro are expected to be released first in China around January or February.
A global launch of the phones is rumored to be around March or April while following the regular timeline of their OnePlus flagship smartphones.
OnePlus 10 Leaked Speculations
While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset remains the highlighted feature of the smartphone, there are also other juicy features rumored to be present in the OnePlus 10.
Here are some of the leaked features of the OnePlus 10 known from the leaked renders:
- A new camera setup powered by Hasselblad.
- The rear camera is expected to have a triple camera with LED flash in a square arrangement.
- A punch-hole selfie shooter.
- Battery capacity is rumored to be 5000mAh.
- Display is expected to be 6.7-inch QHD.
- The phone is rumored to have a refresh rate of 120Hz.
- A resolution of 1440 x 3216 px.
- 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM with up to 256 GB UFS 3.1 internal storage.
OnePlus 10 leaked renders suggest that the phone will have black-colored faux leather with a smooth finishing of leatherette matte.
After this announcement by OnePlus, other smartphone companies like Xiaomi, Realme, and Motorola also announced that their first phones will be housing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The smartphones models, in particular, are expected to be Xiaomi 12, Moto Edge X30, and Realme GT2 Pro.
With the number of exciting features and the heavy-duty Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset, the OnePlus 10 is going to be one hell of a phone.
