Tom Stoltman Wins the World’s Strongest Man 2022 Title

A second consecutive ‘World’s Strongest Man” Crown is the birthday gift the Scottish strongman, Tom Stoltman gave himself on the occasion of his 28th Birthday.

World’s Strongest Man Competition

Tom Stoltman performed brilliantly in the final of the World’s Strongest Man competition of 2022 on Sunday. Tom won the prestigious title for the second year consecutively. In the competition, Stoltman was up against the best in the world but he managed to continue his lead in all the six-event in the final to come out victorious. The soon to be 28 year old fended off a challenge against the 2020 champion Oleksii Novikov and Martins Licis, in the final event.

The Judging Criterion of the Competition

The competition comprises a number of events which eventually guide to the final of the World’s Strongest Man determination. Each of the contestants is tested for their stamina, strength and power.

The 2022 final of the competition included events such as atlas stones, bus pull and  Reign Total Body Fuel Power Stairs among the other such events. Tom was behind the 2020 champion Novikov before the final two events took off but eventually, he managed to outpower him by the final event.

The Leaderboard

Tom Stolman maintained his position among the top three in all of the events and he won the title for the second time in a row after he accumulated 5.5 points. Both Licis and Novikov finished with 43 points each. But Latvian-American Licis gathered the second position in the tiebreaker that occurred between him and Novikov.

What enabled Tom to get the 10.5 points gap against his rival was the Atlas Stones event which is his signature.

Tom Stoltman Making History

Stoltman marked his name in history by becoming the 10th man to win the World’s Strongest Man Crown two times in a row and to become the first to win the consecutive title since Brian Shaw, who won back to back in 2015 and 2016.

“To do it once is unbelievable. Back to back? Almost unheard of,” Stoltman was quoted as saying by USA Today.

“It was kind of an easy ride to the end for me. My body feels unbelievable right now,” Tom claimed while appreciating his nutritionists.

Tom gave the credit for his victory to his team who was all there around him, keeping him concentrated till the end. His team cheered him throughout the competition and the positive affirmations did do a charm. The presence of his wife, Sinead with him in Sacramento was quite special for Stoltman as well.

Celebrating Victory on Social Media

Tom took up to his social media to flaunt and celebrate his victory and posted a picture of himself kissing the winning trophy. He captioned the picture by saying “And Still” pointing toward the trophy being there with him for another year.

Stoltman further posted more pictures and videos of him winning the competition and also captioned one of them as “An early birthday present.”

After winning the title Tom is prepping up to feature in Soccer Aid for the World XI team against England, happening on the 12th of June.
