Another achievement in the belt of Kylian Mbappe as he becomes the fastest player to reach 30 goals in the Champions League. Breaking records has kind of become a habit of Kylian Mbappe and this time it is his teammate whose record he has broken.
Before Mbappe his teammate Lionel Messi held the record for the youngest player to reach 30 goals in the Champions League. Through his brace against Club, Brugge Mbappe has smashed through Messi’s record and the future is certainly bright for him.
Kylian Mbappe surpassed Messi with his brace against Club BruggeÂ
Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland are the 2 players who are expected to carry on the legacy of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Mbappe certainly is moving in the right direction with PSG.
Kylian Mbappe opened up scoring against Club Brugge and his goal in 70 seconds was the earliest goal from kickoff since Edinson Cavani’s goal against Arsenal which took just about 42 seconds. Within a matter of minutes, Mbappe went on to score another one and create a new record.
That was the second-fastest brace in the Champions League and Mbappe was just 10 seconds behind Real Madrid Rodrygo who managed to score a brace in just 6 minutes and 13 seconds.
Mbappe now is also the youngest player to reach 30 goals in the Champions League. He achieved this feat at the age of 22 years and 352 days, while Messi was 23 years, 131 days old when he reached that milestone back in 2010.
Mbappe who is already a World Cup winner at the age of just 22 has tremendous potential and can easily be the next big thing. The Frenchman already has 11 goals and 14 assists for PSG this season in just 22 appearances.
If he can keep this consistency in his game he is bound to become a generational talent. With Neymar out Mbappe could share the center stage with Messi and learn a thing or two from the veteran.
The most important thing for Mbappe is to be consistent
Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland have both produced tremendous numbers in the early stages of their career. However, the key is to remain consistent and keep at it for another 10 to 15 years.
Only then will they be in the conversation all-time greats with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. This could be the reason why Kylian Mbappe is looking for a switch.
It is no secret that Real Madrid has been openly linked with Kylian Mbappe for a transfer. Mbappe has expressed his desire to move but PSG was reluctant to let him go. It feels as if Mbappe doesn’t want to be in Messi’s shadow.
But the bigger reason could be Mbappe’s desires for the organization. Real Madrid has been associated with greatness for quite some time now. With Ronaldo gone Mbappe could be the next cornerstone for Real Madrid.
Neymar is not that committed to the game while Messi would only be at PSG for 2 to 3 years at the most. Real Madrid on the other hand does have a core and can build a team around Kylian Mbappe.
If Mbappe can continue playing at this level he will become of the superstars of the future.
