Lebron James or Michal Jordan is the great all-time debate that basketball fans often indulge themselves in. Michael Jordan is the goal for all basketball players as his glory is unrivaled in the sport.
However, King James has built a similar reputation for himself. Over the years his dominance in the NBA has been evident. He has 17 All-Star appearances to his name and has not missed out in even one single year of his career.
James has 27.0 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.4 assists as his career average in comparison to Jordan’s 30.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.3 assists. The numbers are quite similar although the question is will Lebron be able to match Jordan’s rings.
Lebron James has 4 rings to his name and needs 2 more to level with MJ
Jordan won all 6 of his rings with the Chicago Bulls. Their dominance was supreme with the Dream team that the franchise had built. Scotty Pippen, Denis Rodman, Michael Jordan were three big names that led the franchise to glory.
Lebron on the Other hand has won the NBA title 4 times with 3 different franchises. He has four rings to his name, 2 with the Miami Heat, one with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the most recent one with the Los Angeles Lakers.
A Big Trio is the key to a ring?
If you look at history you will find that having a big trio is the formula of winning for any NBA team. In Miami, there were Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade along with Lebron James.
Whereas in Cavs there was Kyrie Irving along with Kevin Love and JR Smith. Over the years Lebron has commanded enough respect to affect trade decisions and it feels as if the process begins even before the King decides to join your franchise.
Last year was the first time when Lebron with the Lakers wasn’t able to get past the first round of the Playoffs. Although this year the Lakers are looking to get back on track with the arrival of Russel Westbrook.
This could be the move that the Lakers needed to catapult their chances of winning a title With time running out for the King, this year will be very crucial in his pursuit of at least 2 more NBA titles.
Russell Westbrook can be the key to unlocking the Laker’s true potential
This season will be crucial for the LA Lakers. With the arrival of Russell Westbrook, a trio looks to be on the build for the Franchise. Last season Anthony Davis’s absence due to injury was a big reason for the Lakers’ loss against Phoenix.
With the level of fitness that Lebron has maintained over his career, he still has a good 3-4 years in him and we all expect the King to dominate until he finally retires from the game. However, the Lakers haven’t had the best of starts.
Russel Westbrook is someone who likes having the ball in his hand and so is Lebron. Since the start of the season, there have only been 2-3 games when the three of them have played together.
The Lakers need to develop cohesiveness among their stars if they are to mount a title challenge. How well will Russell Westbrook be able to settle in the team will define the Laker’s success this season?
Nets, Bucks, Phoenix all have 3 out and out consistent players. Lebron and AD will deliver in the clutch but it will be upon Russ to take up the mantle of the third superstar for the Lakers.
If the Lakers can win the title this year then you can back Lebron to mount a challenge for one more ring. Otherwise, it would become a rather difficult scenario for even the King as time waits for no one.
