FIFA Launches FIFA+ OTT Platform for Free Football Action

FIFA has announced the launch of FIFA+ which will be the International Football Governing Body’s OTT platform to connect football fans across the world to live Football action. Additionally, this world-class digital platform will also feature premium original content, news, games, and more.

FIFA+ will cover a total of 29,000 men’s matches and over 11,000 women’s matches this year, this means around 40,000+ matches will be available to stream live for free on FIFA Plus. The best part is you do not have to pay anything either.

FIFA’s digital platform will deliver live International matches, domestic league games from across the world, match stats, the prestigious archive in Internation Football, premium originals, information about tournaments, news, an extensive Football-viewing experience, and a lot more.

This makes FIFA the first-ever sports federation to offer such an experience to fans for free. Gianni Infantino, FIFA President, says, “FIFA+ represents the next step in our vision to make football truly global and inclusive, and it underpins FIFA’s core mission of expanding and developing football globally.”

He further explains, “This project represents a cultural shift in the way different types of football fans want to connect with and explore the global game and has been a fundamental part of my Vision 2020-2023. It will accelerate the democratization of football and we are delighted to share it with fans.”

What can you find on FIFA’s Digital Streaming Platform, FIFA+?

FIFA+ will bring all the football action from on and off the pitch including live International and Domestic games, match stats, highlights, previews, and much more. It will also include tournament information, trivia, news, and fun games and quizzes.

Not only this but FIFA+ will also offer intriguing Originals featuring superstars such as Ronaldinho, Dani Alves, Ronaldo Nazario, Romelu Lukaku, Lucy Bronze, Carli Lloyd, and others.

Here is a quick overview of what can you watch and view on FIFA’s digital streaming platform, FIFA Plus:

Live International and Domestic Matches

FIFA+ will stream the equivalent of 40,000 live games in a single year from 100 Member Associations across all six confederations. In 2022, it will broadcast 29,000 men’s matches and 11,000 women’s matches.

It will offer live coverage from the wildly popular Europe’s topflight leagues while also offering coverage for leagues that previously had no broadcasters. From the launch itself, over 1,400 matches will be available to stream live on FIFA+, and this number will keep increasing.

Match Centre, News, and Gaming

FIFA+ will also present football fans with a rich collection of football data across 400 men’s competitions and 65 women’s competitions. Fans can find a daily feed of football news from around the world.

Along with this, the platform will also feature interactive games including polls, quizzes, fantasy games, and predictors to let the football fans have fun.

Extensive FIFA+ Archive

FIFA+ will also offer every FIFA World Cup and FIFA Women’s World Cup match that has ever been recorded on camera. This will total up to around 2,000 hours of archive content. You can simply look up any FIFA World Cup game and start streaming.

The extensive archive will also include full-match replays, highlights, goals, and magical moments in the span of a single dashboard. FIFA+ has launched over 2,500 videos dating back to the 1950s, and this collection will keep increasing.

Thrilling FIFA+ Originals Featuring Legends

FIFA+ will also offer unmatched original content including full-length documentaries, docuseries, talk shows, and shorts available in 11 languages. The immersive content experience will tell stories from local grassroots to national teams and will cover footballing heroes from the past and present coming from over 40 different countries.

The content on the platform will be available in five language editions including English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish at launch. Six additional languages will be available starting June 2022.

Is FIFA+ free to use Everywhere?

Yes, FIFA+ is free to use everywhere. It doesn’t have any geological restrictions either. You only need to visit the FIFA Plus web page and start exploring the rich collection of football content.

Charlotte Burr, FIFA Director of Strategy, told reporters, “There is no plan to charge a subscription fee for the service, that doesn’t mean to say that we may not evolve over time should there be a value proposition that allows us to charge subscription if we step into premium rights or adopt other kinds of models.”

She further confirms, “But there will always be a free experience on FIFA+.” That’s the only good news football fans needed with the launch of this marvelous platform.
