Former Playboy Playmate model Kymberly Herrin has passed away at the of 65. The model died peacefully on October 28 in Santa Barbara, California, as per the obituary published in Santa Barbara News-Press.
The cause of her death has not been revealed yet. Apart from being a playboy model, Herrin was also famous for appearing in the original Ghostbusters film in 1984, in which she starred as a ghost and had an infamous sex scene with Ray Stantz, played by Dan Aykroyd. Kymberly Herrin Passes Away at 65
Kymberly’s niece, Theresa Ramirez, posted a photo on Facebook on October 28 that showed her model-actor aunt posing on the beach with her two late sisters. “They are all together now. [Broken heart emoji.] Aunt Kymberly Herrin. I love you [heart emoji],” she had captioned the post.
In the obituary, the model’s family has said that those who wish to donate in Kymberly’s memory can do so to the American Cancer Society to “further the research of the prevention and treatment of breast cancer.”
Kymberly is survived by her mother, Billie Dodson, brother Mark Herrin, nieces Theresa Ramirez and Stephanie Ross, nephews Brandon Herrin and Trevor Triegor, and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

As soon as the news of Kymberly Herrin’s demis broke, her fans flooded social media with condolence messages and tributes. “She was so special to so many people, I am not sure she knew how many people loved and adored her. Her humour and sensitivity towards others always touched me. Words are not enough,” wrote a person.

Kymberly Herrin Shot to Fame with Ghostbusters in 1984
Herrin had a successful career as a model and featured on the covers of dozens of magazines. In March 1981, she became Playboy magazine’s Playmate of the Month and also graced the cover of the magazine’s September 1982 and September 1983 issues.
Herrin got wide recognition after appearing as a ghost in the 1984 film Ghostbusters and featuring in a steamy sex scene with Dan Aykroyd. In 2021, Dan joked about filming the scene and said, “Yes, I remember the woman who played that. Her name was Kym Herrin, and she was a Playboy Playmate.”
“She played the ghost. Like, I wish they’d let that scene go a little longer,” he added. Herrin also appeared as a Playboy Playmate in the 1987 film Beverly Hills Cop II and starred in the music video Legs by ZZ Top.
