Who announced the news of Andy’s death?
Katastro’s band members announced the news of their bandmate, Chaves, passing away on social media on May 13, 2022, Friday. At the time of his death, he was just 32 years old.
Ryan, Tanner and Andrew Stravers issued a statement confirming the death of their bandmate on Instagram that read, “We are completely devastated to have to announce the loss of our brother and singer Andy Chaves. Please respect the privacy of Andy’s family and the members of the band as we all begin to process this. Thank you for the love and support.”
At the moment, Andy’s family has not made any official comment on his death. As per the reports of The Pier, the singer was involved in a car crash.
Andy J Chaves was the founder of the band Katastro
For those of you who don’t know, Andy was the lead singer of a band named Katastro. He formed the band in the year 2007 in Tempe, Arizona. Other members of the band are as follows: drummer Andrew Stravers, guitarist Tanner Riccio, and bassist Ryan Weddle.
The singer kept his personal life away from the flashing cameras. To date, Katastro has dropped a total of six full-length albums and two acoustic records since its formation.
When we scrolled through Andy’s Instagram page, we found photos of him from his performances on stage. He has around 14.7k followers on the social media platform. Chaves had his own merch collection. We must say that he was a talented individual.

As soon as the news of Andy’s passing away came out, the fans couldn’t stop themselves from paying tributes to him on the social media platform Twitter. His tragic death shocked his fans all over the world.
