American rapper Magoo well noted by the fans for being a part of the hip-hop duo Timbaland & Magoo is reportedly no longer with us. His alleged passing has sent the netizens into a state of shock. The news of his demise surfaced on the internet on August 13, 2023, Sunday.

American rapper Magoo dies aged 50
Magoo, one-half of the musical duo Timbaland & Magoo has reportedly left for the heavenly abode. The sad news of his death was recently confirmed by R&B artist Digital Black whose real name is Benjamin Bush on the social media platform Instagram.
“Man can’t believe this RIH Magoo damn big bro wasn’t ready for this all #superfriends” he wrote alongside a throwback picture of Magoo and himself. As of this moment, the actual cause behind the death of Magoo is not known.
Who was Magoo?
For those of you who are unversed, let us share with you, Magoo was born Melvin Barcliff in Norfolk, Virginia. He began experimenting with music during his teen years. He is best known by the people for his collaborations with Timbaland like Jumps da Boogie, Welcome to Our World, and Deep In Your Memory amongst many others.
Along with this, Melvin also worked with other popular artists including Missy Elliot for Beep 911 and Playa for Derma City (Interlude). In an earlier interview with You Know I Got Soul, he revealed that he and his future collaborator Timbaland aka Tim Mosley met each other as teenagers in his hometown of Norfolk through Larry Live. And the rest is history.
During the same interview with You Know I Got Soul, Magoo shared that he believed in hardwork and never giving up. At that point in time, he spilled the beans on his struggling days and said, “We didn’t care about the fame. The dream then was hearing yourself on the radio because Michael Jackson was on the radio.”
When was the band ‘Timbaland & Magoo’ formed?
Tim and Melvin formed their band Timbaland & Magoo in the year 1995. Back in the day, they signed a deal with Blackground Records. The duo dropped their debut studio album Welcome to Our World in 1997 which ended up selling more than 1.6 million records.
Their second album Indecent Proposal, saw the light of day in 2001. On the other hand, when we talk about their third album, Under Construction Part II, it was released in 2003. Their third album was supposed to be a sequel to Missy Elliot’s album Under Construction.
