Vanessa Kirby had an awkward moment as she suffered a wardrobe malfunction at the premiere of her upcoming film Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One in New York City on Monday.
The actress’ dress strap slipped through her shoulder when she posed for cameras on the red carpet. Kirby, however, handled the faux pas well as she immediately covered herself with her hands and laughed off the incident.
Vanessa Kirby Suffers Wardrobe Malfunction at Mission: Impossible NYC Premiere
Kirby was at the Rose Theater in New York City on July 10th to attend the premiere of Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One. She rocked a Schiaparelli silk spaghetti strap dress for the special event and walked the red carpet posing happily for the cameras.
At one moment, the left strap of her dress fell down her arm. Kirby was surprised for a moment and quickly covered herself with her hands. She then pulled the strap back up immediately and fixed her dress. The Crown actress did not let the incident deter her confidence and continued to pose for the media.
She eventually seemed to have gotten the dress fixed as she went about the premiere without any difficulty. For the occasion, Kirby had chosen attire from the Schiaparelli Spring 2023 Haute Couture collection. She accessorized herself with black gloves and stole.
Kirby’s Looks from the MI Premiere Have Been the Talk of the Town
The actress has been on the Mission: Impossible press tour in the last few days and has made head turns with her fashion statements at every screening. In June, she attended the Seoul premiere of the film in a maroon and black colorway Balmain snakeskin dress paired with black heels.
Earlier during the London screening, Kirby sported a Dolce & Gabbana gown. The actress also made news for her chainmail Miu Miu dress that she wore for the film’s debut premiere in Rome on June 19th. For the tour, Kirby is joined by her co-stars Tom Cruise, Rebecca Ferguson, Henry Czerny, Hayley Atwell, and Esai Morales.
The Actress Plays Alanna Mitsopolis in the Mission: Impossible Franchise
Kirby is reprising the role of Alanna Mitsopolis aka White Widow in Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One. She first essayed the role in the 2018 blockbuster Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Dead Reckoning is the seventh film in the franchise and is set to be released on July 12th.
An eighth film in the series, Dead Reckoning Part Two is already planned to be released on June 28, 2024. Talking about working with Cruise on the project, Kirby told the media, “When you’re around someone like Tom, who is such a cinephile … and loves what he does so much, it is life-changing.”
Meanwhile, Cruise also talked about his expectations from the film and said, “I think when you look at this movie, it really defines what I think about cinema and why because you look at this kind of cast, you look at a brilliant ensemble cast, and this kind of story is very engrossing.”
