Ukraine President Zelenskyy and His Wife are Grateful to Prince William and Kate Middleton

Amidst Russia’s barbaric invasion of Ukraine, which stretched to a week now, many celebrities and political figures have come forward to show their blunt support and empathy towards Ukraine and its people.

These well-wishers also include people from the royal families. Prince William and Kate Middleton extended their support in favor of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and its people on 26, February.

The Kensington Royal tweeted

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a tweet via their joint account @KensingtonRoyal on Twitter:

“In October 2020 we had the privilege to meet President Zelenskyy and the First Lady to learn of their hope and optimism for Ukraine’s future. Today we stand with the President and all of Ukraine’s people as they bravely fight for that future.”

The royal couple signed the post at the end with “W & C.” The post has received 91.9k likes on this date.

The Cambridges first met Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and first lady, Olena Zelenska, back in October 2020. It was a two-day official visit of the Ukrainian President to the UK.

Volodymyr’s Response:

Zelenskyy has been busy dealing with the devastating situation of Ukraine, finally responded to their tweet post 24 hours silence on social media. He expressed his gratefulness towards the Royal pair on behalf of himself and his wife, Olena.

Ukrainian leader tweeted back: “Olena and I are grateful to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge that at this crucial time when Ukraine is courageously opposing Russia’s invasion, they stand by our country and support our brave citizens.”

He further added: “Good will triumph.”

Before that day, several claims were going viral on the Internet that Zelenskyy backed off and had abandoned Ukraine causing the air of insecurity among the mass. Volodymyr posted a short video on social media platforms to unveil the truth.

He shot a clip of himself walking around Kyiv’s streets in different parts of the city, assuring his people that he’s “here” and clarified that those are fake information and that’s him and his army hasn’t evacuated.

He ignites the spirit of the people of his nation, saying, “I’m here. We won’t lay down our arms. We will defend our country. Glory to Ukraine.”

Other Royals Take on Ukraine’s Crisis:

On Saturday 26 February 2022, during their NAACP Image Awards acceptance speech, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also addressed the catastrophe by saying,” Before I begin, we would like to acknowledge the people of Ukraine, who urgently need our continued support as a global community.”

Later on, Tuesday Prince of Wales criticized President Putin’s attack on Ukraine during his visit to Southend-on-Sea, England. The 73-years-old Prince Charles said in his speech, “We are seeing those same values under attack today in Ukraine in the most unconscionable way. In the stand we take here, we are in solidarity with all those who are resisting brutal aggression.”

On 1 March 2022, Zelenskyy also thanked King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands for their warm words of support to the people of Ukraine.”

Earlier today Russia dropped a devastating “vacuum bomb,” which is against the rules of the Geneva Convention, on Ukraine, leading to the death of dozens in a renewed assault on Ukraine’s second-largest city, Kharkiv.
