Trey Songz Hit With A $10 Million Sexual Battery & Assault Lawsuit
Trey Songz has been hit with a $10 million sexual battery and assault lawsuit by a woman, who accused the 38-year-old rapper of grabbing and exposing her breasts at a pool party. According to court documents, the woman, suing anonymously as Jane Doe, is coming after Trey, his production company, record exec, Kevin Liles, and Atlantic Records over the 2013 incident.
It came out that the woman blasted a demand letter to Trey last year, claiming that he pulled her breast out of her bikini without consent, and exposed them to the crowd at his “Foxwoods Liquid Sundays with Trey Songz” event. She also produced a video as evidence.
Trey Songz Is A Habitual Offender When It Comes To Women
Trey Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Aldon Neverson, has been previously arrested for assault. The “I Gotta Make It” artist was previously arrested in 2012 for assaulting a former State Island nurse at a club in Queen. However, the matter was settled outside court.
In 2018, a woman claiming Songz choked and punched her at an LA party managed to seek a domestic violence restraining order against the rapper. She said the pair were “occasional romantic partners” and asked for “friends and employees” of the Grammy-nominated singer to come forward. She has to withdraw the lawsuit in 2019.
In 2021, Songz faced another explosive sexual assault investigation in Las Vegas. Even though the case was dropped last year, the present victim’s lawyers allege that it triggered their client to seek her own justice.
On the other hand, an attorney for Songz claimed, “This is yet another example of decade-old allegations being repurposed into a federal case. …. We look forward to vindicating Trey on the merits in court.” Songz hasn’t publicly responded to the lawsuit.
As for his professional career, Songz released his first number-one album, Chapter V in 2012. The album debuted atop the Billboard 200. Its lead single, “Heart Attack”, was nominated for Best R&B Song at the 2013 Grammy Awards.
Songz later released his sixth studio album “Trigga” in 2014. It was after three years that Songz came up with a seventh studio album Tremaine in 2017. In 2020, he released Back Home. The artist has sold over 25 million records worldwide in singles and album
