Travis Scott Accused of Punching a Man at NYC Nightclub

The alleged altercation took place around 3 am on Wednesday at Nebula, a nightclub on 41st Street in New York City. Sources have revealed that the victim is a 52 year old sound engineer who worked at the club. The victim claimed that Scott got into a verbal spat with him which soon turned physical, and he was punched on the left side of the face.

The Sicko Mode rapper then also damaged a speaker and video screen worth $12,000 before fleeing the spot in his vehicle. The victim did not have any visible injuries on his face and did not complain of pain, as per the police.

A complaint was lodged, but Scott has not been arrested yet. Police are now investigating the case and are searching for more information via surveillance videos. The rapper’s reps have not commented on the matter as of now.

‘Scott was Angry and Intoxicated,’ Says a Source

An insider from the nightclub has revealed the details of the altercation and said that Scott entered the club ‘angry and intoxicated’. He stated, “Travis came in angry and intoxicated and progressively went postal. His shirt said, ‘Back the f–k up.’ It’s like he was poised for battle. It was foreshadowing.”

The rapper was allegedly ‘upset about the sound’ and punched the victim within 10 minutes of his arrival at the club. “It was fast and furious,” said the source. The sound engineer lowered the volume; however, ‘Travis then walked over to the sound man yelling aggressively in his face on why he lowered the sound, then he smacked the sound man right across the face’.

“It caused a big commotion between Travis’ security and club security. After that Travis took the phone from one fan who was recording Don Toliver’s performance and threw the phone on the floor,” the insider added. Scott is scheduled to headline Rolling Loud California in Los Angeles on Saturday. It now remains to be seen if the investigation hampers the concert.

The Rapper has Faced Several Legal Troubles in the Past

This is not the first time Scott has landed in trouble with the authorities. In February 2018, he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct at an Arkansas concert. A year prior, he was charged with inciting a riot, to which he pleaded not guilty.

In November 2021, a stampede broke out during his performance at the Astroworld Festival in Houston, which killed 10 people. Following the tragedy, 400 lawsuits were filed against the rapper by the families of the victims.
