A source exclusively revealed that Travis Barker was released from the hospital six days after being diagnosed with life-threatening pancreatitis.
A recent colonoscopy, which the 46-year-old musician revealed in his Instagram Story, may have triggered the illness, which led to an admission last Tuesday, June 28.
In the beginning, he was taken to West Hills Hospital near Calabasas, California, but was eventually transferred to Cedars Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills. The ambulance carrying Travis was closely followed by his wife Kourtney Kardashian.
“Life-Threatening Pancreatitis” Contributed To Travis Barker’s Recent Hospitalization
The announcement was made via Barker’s Instagram Stories on Saturday. He revealed “I went in for an endoscopy Monday feeling great. But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since”.
According to him, ” During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe life threatening pancreatitis. I am so very very grateful that with intensive treatment, I am currently much better.” he added with a praying emoji.
Additionally, Kourtney, who married Travis in May in Portofino, Italy, posted a statement. “Oh what a scary and emotional week it has been,” she said shortly after Travis’ post. “Our health is everything and sometimes we take for granted how quickly it can change,” she stated.
A statement from Kourtney Kardashian also addressed her husband’s health issues. “Travis and I went in for a routine endoscopy together and he ended up with severe, life-threatening pancreatitis.”
Then she added, “I’m so so thankful to our specialists, doctors, and nurses at Cedars Sinai for taking such wonderful care of my husband and me during our stay.”
As per the reports Travis Barker was first transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday after being rushed to West Hills Hospital and Medical Center. The 43-year-old Kardashian stood by his side.
Alabama Kept Her Followers Updated On His Health
As Barker recovered from his hospitalization, numerous family members kept followers updated on his condition, including 16 year old daughter Alabama, who shared a video from his room on social media.
Adding a cover of Beach Bunny’s “Cloud 9” to the video, his daughter captioned her TikTok post, “Please say a prayer.” Alabama’s posted-and-deleted video didn’t address her dad’s hospital stay.
He Also Received Prayers From His Ex-Wife For A Speedy Recovery
During this week’s issue of Page Six, Barker was also supported by his ex-wife and Alabama’s mother, Shanna Moakler. Moakler said, “I pray for a speedy recovery and for the comfort of my children as I know they are very concerned and worried”.
She added, “I know with his support system he will do it again, I will always be there for him and my children.”
She expressed their concern for the musician, but his 18-year-old son Landon has not publicly addressed Barker’s health concerns.
