Luckily, neither of them was hurt in the accident, however, the car was impounded and the personal items of the TikTok star were withheld.
Allen claimed that she went to get a hold of her belongings the very next day and she stated that the situation got out of hand when the manager acted rude and mean to her. Shortly afterward, the manager followed Tierra out of the office and she told him to stop.
Then, the manager called the cops and told them that she was screaming. In an interview with CNN, Tierra said, “I felt so scared. I am in shock that he frightened me, I told him to stop, and now the police have said I can’t go home.”
She went on to say, “I told them I had a medical emergency and needed to return to the US, but they wouldn’t let me. I’ve now found out that the police could keep me here for months while they decide whether to prosecute me and if they do, I could go to prison.”
Here’s all you need to know about Tierra Allen’s ongoing situation in Dubai
At the moment, Tierra Allen is being assisted by Radha Stirling, the CEO of Detained in Dubai. On Sunday morning, Radha talked about Tierra’s current situation in Dubai in a Twitter post.
Stirling tweeted, “San Diego woman detained in #Dubai for “shouting” after being intimidated by rental car agent who would not give her belongings back. She was the passenger in a traffic accident and has now been told she could face prison. Extortion by rental car agencies is a common issue!”
In the tweet, Radha also mentioned that car agencies often try to identify people they consider “wealthy foreigners” to force them into paying cash to settle a case and avoid jail time.
In this particular case, Tierra could be one of the wealthy foreigners targeted in an extortion attempt. Stirling added, “The hope is that whomever they perceive to be a ‘wealthy foreigner’ will offer them cash in order to drop the case.” She specified that many agencies perform such activities as a form of business.
