Taylor Hawkins to be Posthumously Honored at the Grammys

Foo Fighters has called off its upcoming world tour following the sad demise of their drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died of a drug overdose in Columbia. Now, the Grammys is set to pay tribute to the star drummer.

The 2022 Grammy Awards will take place on April 3, 2022, in Las Vegas. Trevor Noah would be hosting the big night. It is not confirmed as to how the Grammys will pay honor to Taylor’s legacy with the Foo Fighters, but one thing is sure, the band will be receiving some honor in his name.

Statement about Taylor’s Grammy

Jack Sussman, CBS’ executive vice president of special, music and live events stated:

“We will honor his memory in some way. We want to figure out what is the right thing to do that is respectful to everyone involved. We’re patient. We’ll be planning right up until the very end.”

Jack’s statement reveals that the Grammys will be honoring Taylor’s memory in some way, but they haven’t named the award yet. However, it is unsure whether Foo Fighters will appear to take the honor in light of the cancellation of their upcoming tours.

Foo Fighter’s stand

Reliable sources confirm that Foo Fighters might turn up at the gala event to pay tribute to their star drummer. FYI, the American rock band was added to the list of performers at this year’s Grammy along with performers like Silk Sonic, John Legend, Carrie Underwood and J Balvin (with Maria Becerra).

Foo Fighters is already nominated for three Grammys at this year’s ceremony. However, the band released a statement last night stating that they were “sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won’t be seeing one another as planned”.

Foo Fighters were also going to tour ten countries and had around 54 upcoming concerts. All tickets were sold out in locations like France, Spain, the U.K. and Spain. However, the band released a statement stating the cancellation of all events as a homage to their drummer.

It is disappointing that we won’t be seeing our favorite band performing or even receiving their Grammy on Sunday. Taylor’s band has come as a shock to the entire band, especially Dave Grohl who found a brother in him. Will they change their mind? There is a slight possibility that they might at least come to take Taylor’s honor.
