South Korean actress and model Jung Chae-yul best known for her performance as Bae Yoon-mi in Netflix’s comedy Zombie Detective has died. She was found dead in her home on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. She passed away at the age of 26.

South Korean actress Jung Chae-yul passes away at 26
Jung Chae-yul is no longer with us. At the time of her passing, she was only 26 years old. In a statement issued, Chae-yul’s agency, Management S, told MK News, “We are here to deliver heartbreaking news. Actress Chaeyul left us on April 11th.”
The statement further read, “Her funeral will be held privately in accordance to the wishes of her family, who must be in greater sadness than anyone else. We hope you pray for the deceased so Chaeyul, who was also sincere in her acting, may rest in peace.”
As per The Independent, the CEO of Chae-yul’s management agency told OSEN, “Our Chae-Yul was very hardworking. She was a deep-hearted and cool friend. In my opinion, it is hard to describe in words how amazing she was as an actress.”
Who was Jung Chae-yul?
Jung Chae-yul was a rising actor in South Korean films as well as dramas who was born on September 4, 1996. She made her debut in the year 2016 with the show Devil’s Runway. She garnered the attention of the audience for her role in Zombie Detective. In addition to this, she also appeared in I Have Not Done My Best, and the 2018 film Deep.
Along with this, Chae-yul was also cast in the highly-anticipated K-drama series titled Wedding Impossible before her demise. Since the time, the sad news saw the light of day, the production of the series has been paused.

The Zombie Detective star’s last post on the social media platform Instagram was a monochrome photo of her holding a glass and wearing headphones. She had somewhat around 28.9k followers on her Instagram page. The fans of the actress shared their deepest condolences and heartfelt tributes in the comments section of her last Instagram post.
One social media user wrote, “I wish you all the best there and only good memories. I’m so sad. I don’t know how to feel.” Another fan chimed in, “Rest in peace angel.” A comment read, “May your soul rest in peace. May your unfulfilled wishes come true in peace at least in the afterlife.”
Followed by a third user who penned, “Such a kind and sincere Cheo-yung… Why… Even the sky is reckless.” Another one went on to say, “Rest in peace beautiful angel. You deserve more love than this world can give.”
