Singer and rapper Aaron Carter has passed away at the age of 34. The musician was found dead in his home on November 5. The official cause of death is yet to be revealed; however, some reports suggest that Carter’s body was found in his bathtub.
The singer was the younger brother of Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter and rose to prominence in 1997 with his debut self-titled album. Read on to know more about the unfortunate news of his demise.
Aaron Carter Found Dead at 34
As per reports, Aaron was found dead in his bathtub at his home in Lancaster, California, on Saturday morning. The Los Angeles County police received a report of drowning at the place and reached there around 11:00 am, finding the singer’s body.
Aaron’s reps have now confirmed his death, saying, “Right now it’s a really bad time, we’re trying to figure out what happened and what the cause of it was. We’re just as upset as everyone and hope that fans can give thoughts and prayers to his family.”
The reps also added, “A statement will be released shortly by the family and management. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.” The cause of death remains unknown for now, but it might become clear after an autopsy.
Tributes Pour In for the Singer
After the tragic news broke, friends and fans of the deceased singer started paying their condolences and tributes. Singer Samantha Scarlette tweeted, “Rest in peace Aaron Carter. I am in tears right now hearing of your death. I just talked to you on Wednesday & you seemed in good spirits. You were such a sweet soul that never had a chance.”
Singer-actor Tyler Hilton said he was heartbroken by the news, writing, “No…. This @aaroncarter news is heartbreaking… this kid had such a spark. Known him for years and always really liked him, he was warm and really funny. Loved putting on a show and he was good at it. Ill find some pics of us and post more later… damn RIP budddd”.
Aaron’s fans were equally sad and expressed their grief on social media. A fan tweeted, “When I was in 2nd grade I BEGGED my parents to take me to see Aaron Carter. They said no because we were out of town, but then he was playing in that city the next night, so we got to go :’) That was my first concert, and now I spend all my $$ on live music. RIP”
Aaron Carter Released his First Album at 9 Years of Age
Aaron’s albums sold millions of copies in the late 1990s. After a number of appearances on stage as the opener for the Backstreet Boys, the singer released his debut self-titled album in 1997, when he was only 9 years old.
He followed it up with Aaron’s Party (Come Get It) (2000), Oh Aaron (2001), and Another Earthquake! (2002). Some of his hit numbers included I Want Candy, Aaron’s Party (Come Get It) and That’s How I Beat Shaq.
Carter also made several appearances on television. He starred as himself in Lizzie McGuire and Sabrina the Teenage Witch and also appeared in some movies, including Fat Albert, Popstar and Supercross. In 2009, he participated in Dancing with the Stars and reached the top 5. His last studio album, LØVË, was released in 2018.
