The Irish national police force issued a statement saying, “Shane was last seen this morning in the Tallaght, Dublin 24 area. He is 5ft 6 ins, with short brown hair and blue eyes. When last seen, he was wearing a black hoodie with a print design dark tracksuit pants, a wine colored T-shirt and runners.”

Sinéad O’Connor shared the untimely demise of her son on the social media platform Twitter saying he “decided to end his earthly struggle” and requested others not to follow his example.

Sinéad tweeted, “My beautiful son, Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, the very light of my life, decided to end his earthly struggle today and is now with God. May he rest in peace and may no one follow his example. My baby. I love you so much. Please be at peace”.

In the past, the Irish singer was very candid about her own mental struggles and thoughts of suicide that comes to her mind.

On Twitter, she dedicated the “Ride Natty Ride” song by Bob Marley to pay tributes to her son.

She wrote, “This is for my Shaney. The light of my life. The lamp of my soul. My blue-eyed baby. You will always be my light. We will always be together. No boundary can separate us”.

When her son disappeared, the Irish musician was seen pleading with her son in a series of tweets asking him not to be harsh on himself and surrender to the authorities.

She tweeted, “My world would collapse without you. You are my heart. Please don’t stop it from beating. Please don’t harm yourself. Go to the Gardai and let’s get you to hospital.”

She was seen really upset the way things were handled by the police officials and tweeted, “I’m going to take private time now to grieve my son. When I am ready I will be telling exactly how the Irish State in the ignorant, evil, self-serving, lying forms of Tusla and the HSE enabled and facilitated his death. Magdalene Ireland never went away. Ask the youth.”

Below is one more tweet shared by Sinead for her missing son on January 6.

Shane’s parents are Donal Lunny, a popular Irish folk musician and producer, and Sinead. The couple separated in 2004 in less than a few months after Shane’s arrival. Sinead married four times and has four children.

In 2017, Sinead changed her name to Magda Davitt, and then the following year in 2018, she has gone with a name change again after converting to Islam as Shuhada’ Sadaqat.

Last year in the month of May 2020, Sinead updated a pic of her son accompanying her to get a second dose of coronavirus vaccine. Her fans observed similarities in their looks.

Fans and other celebrities offered their condolences when Sinead shared the tragic demise of her son on social media.
