Nicolas Coster has left for the heavenly abode. The prolific soap opera actor’s daughter Dinneen Coster announced the sad news of his death on Facebook. At the time of his demise, he was 89 years old.

Dinneen wrote, “It’s with great sadness that I am posting this to my father’s book page. Nicolas Coster passed on this evening in a hospital in Florida. Please remember him as a great artist. He was an actor’s actor! I will always be inspired by him and know how lucky I am to have such a great father!! Rest In Peace.”

Coster was well-noted by the fans for playing the role of Robert Delaney in the NBC series Another World (also known as Somerset) between 1970 and 1979.

According to Fox News, the All My Children actor Nicolas Coster died following a long-term battle with cancer. It has been reported by the media outlet that he struggled with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) due to the cancer.

In a statement issued to the media outlet, Coster’s agent Chrystal Ayers said, “Nick was a brilliant talent. He was caring, compassionate and outspoken. Although many close to Nick knew he was ill we are all devastated by the loss.”

Ayers went on to say, “My heart goes out to his wife, Elena, his two daughters whom he loved dearly, Candace and Dinneen, and his little dog Lana that was always a close companion.”

Chrystal further added, “We will all miss Nick. Nick was not only one of my talents, Nick was a dear friend whom I cared greatly about and spoke with weekly.”

Nicolas Coster is survived by his daughters Candice Jr. and Dinneen, whom he welcomed with his first wife, dancer-actress Candace Hilligoss. The two of them were married from 1961 until their divorce in 1981. He also had a son named Ian who died in the year 2016.
