As per his family’s statement, Paul was found dead at his home in Dorset on April 6, 2023, Thursday and he was pronounced dead later that afternoon. It has been confirmed by Dorset Police that there were no suspicious circumstances. As of this moment, the exact cause behind the death of Paul has not been revealed publicly.
According to Yahoo! News, Paul’s family also put out a statement to confirm the passing of the musician. The statement reads, “It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole.”
The statement further reads, “Paul was found yesterday, 6th April 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon. While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances. Paul’s family, friends, and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time.”
When was the band S Club 7 formed?
For those of you who are unaware, let us share with you, the British band S Club 7 was created in the year 1998. Along with Paul, the other members of the band included Rachel Stevens, Hannah Spearritt, Bradley McIntosh, Tina Barrett, Jon Lee, and Jo O’Meara.
The band rose to prominence the next year in the BBC One series Miami 7, which revolved around the lives of the band members after they shifted to Miami. In addition to this, there was also a show called S Club 7 in Miami, which aired in the U.S. on Fox Family and later on ABC Family. The band was a big success between the years 1998 to 2003 when they eventually split.
Over the years, they recorded four studio albums, dropped 11 singles, and went on to sell over 10 million albums all over the world and they even tasted global success when their song Never Had a Dream Come True got a spot on the US Hot 100 chart.
Earlier this year, in February, the band announced that they would reunite for a 25th anniversary tour. They would kick off their tour in Liverpool in October.
