Rosamund Pike Comes Forward to Protest at Russia’s London Embassy

Actress Rosamund Pike is not backing down when it comes to supporting Ukraine, she was one of the protesters outside the Russian Embassy in London on Sunday, March 20. The people of Ukraine have suffered a lot since the time Vladimir Putin’s Russia decided to attack it and they are still going through a lot at the moment.

The members of the Frontline Club were standing tall in the protest and they were the people behind this protest. #StraightFromTheFrontline was their tagline. Their key aim behind protesting was to bring light to the killing of journalists in Ukraine. This group of protestors also witnessed the beam of colors of the Ukrainian flag on the Embassy building.

What did Pike have to say about the current situation in Ukraine?

In a video that surfaced on the internet, we saw Rosamund spilling the beans on the present state of Ukraine. She was spotted holding up images of journalists who have lost their lives during the battle for their homeland.

During an interaction with Byline TV, Pike said, “Journalists bring us the truth from the ground, they bear witness to what’s truly going on and report without bias or prejudice. For that truth they are so often killed, it happens all over the world and is happening now in Ukraine, journalists are being targeted and not killed through accidents, whatever people are trying to make us believe.”

She further added, “The people we have in our arms today above our heads have all been killed in the last two weeks. It has to stop because we need the stories, the world needs the truth.”

How many journalists have been killed during Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine?

As per the reports of the Geneva-based Press Emblem Campaign, nearly six journalists have been murdered brutally while they were working in Ukraine. On the other hand, dozens of journalists have been wounded and the torture of the Russian army didn’t stop there they even ended up kidnapping two journalists.

When did Russia invade Ukraine?

Vladimir Putin’s Russia started its invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The Ukrainians could have not thought of what’s happening to them right now even in their wildest dreams.

The bombardings and attacks are still taking place in Ukraine. Innocent people are losing their lives because of this war. It’s been more than a month and the Ukrainians are still fighting to save their lives and their country.

According to the U.N. human rights office (OHCHR), as of now nearly 911 civilians of Ukraine have been killed and around 1,459 people have been injured. OHCHR stated that a large majority of casualties have taken place due to explosive weapons such as shelling from heavy artillery and multiple-launch rocket systems, and missile and airstrikes.

The conditions in Ukraine don’t seem good. We just hope that the circumstances in the country get better soon. One thing that’s suffering the most in this war between Ukraine and Russia is humanity. Don’t forget to stay tuned with us for the latest updates.
