Rebel Wilson Alleges Male Co-Star of Sexual Harassment, Know the “Disgusting” Incident

Jojo Rabbit star Rebel Wilson claims that she was sexually harassed by a male co-star a few years back. The 42-year-old “Senior Year” actress wants to make sure that her young co-stars are respected. Read on to know the incident that happened even before the #MeToo movement, which started in 2017.

A Man Pulled Down His Pants

Rebel Melanie Elizabeth Wilson claims that a former co-star sexually harassed her and then attempted to destroy her career. The  Pitch Perfect film series star revealed that an unnamed man called her into the room and pulled down his pants. Not just this, he asked her to perform a lewd act in front of his friends.

Rebel stated, “It was awful and disgusting, and all the behaviour afterwards — this was all before #MeToo — where they kind of tried to destroy me and my career. If it had happened after #MeToo, then I could have just blasted them.”

The “Senior Year” actress, who is a law graduate from the University of South Wales narrated that she did what she could to document the incident for legal purposes and immediately called her rep. Wilson revealed:

 “I got certain things in writing about what happened, definitely amongst industry circles, I made sure people knew what happened. I should have left the movie when it happened because staying wasn’t worth it. But at the same time, I was like, ‘Oh well, do the right thing, be a professional and finish the movie.’ Now I would never do that.”

Wilson further narrated,  “I thought even complaining to my agency was a big step. And to complain to the studio. I found out I was like the fourth person to complain about the guy. Such gross behaviour, but a lot of women have had it way worse.”

Wilson also said she would stand up for herself “even more” if something similar happened today. She said, “If it happened again, I would probably stand up for myself even more just because of the bravery of the other women that have stood up and now allowed me an opportunity.”

A word for the “Senior Year” Cast

The 42-year old Australian actress, who starred in the Netflix film “Senior Year insisted that she wants to make sure that there was a lot of “respect” for her younger co-stars on the set. She does not want any other woman to fall victim to what she has been through.

Wilson said, “I wanted to bring the hilariousness and the heart [to ‘Senior Year’] but because there’s a lot of young cast in the film, I wanted to make sure there’s a lot of respect for everybody.

She added, [Years ago, a male co-star], called me into a room and pulled down his pants. It was awful and disgusting.” Rebel Wilson hasn’t revealed the name of her co-star whom she alleges of sexually harassing her.
