The hip-hop industry has lost another rising star. Rapper 26Ceejay was killed on Thursday, March 30. The rapper, said to be in his mid-20s, was shot dead in his car, and his vehicle was set to fire with gasoline.
26Ceejay was a former member of Kodak Black’s crew and started releasing his own music last year. The news of his murder comes just a few hours after another young rapper, BTB Savage, was also shot dead in Houston on the same day. 26Ceejay Shot Dead, Set to Fire in Florida
The incident took place in the rapper’s hometown, Broward County, in Pampano Beach, Florida, around 6:10 am on March 30. People in the neighborhood revealed that they heard gunshots from the spot, and there was also an explosion some 30 minutes later. 26Ceejay’s body was found completely burned in the backseat of the car.
It is not yet clear whether the rapper died from gunshots or from the fire. The identity of the attackers remains a mystery, and they have not been caught by the police yet. The motive behind the killing also remains unknown. Broward Sheriff’s Office is now investigating the case.

26Ceejay Released his First Album in 2022
After working in Kodak Black’s crew for a few years, 26Ceejay started his own music career by releasing his first album in July 2022. The EP, titled King Kobra, garnered over 64k views on YouTube and got the rapper more than 12k followers on Instagram. Earlier in 2020, he released a single titled Sweet Love to Spotify.
26Ceejay’s latest track, DEAD FRIENDZ, was released in February this year. He announced the launch of the song by posting a teaser on Instagram and writing, “Been trying to stay away from music but My lil brotherZ made me do it🤦🏽♂️ DEAD FRIENDZ‼️ OUT NOW‼️”
The age of the rapper is not officially known. However, his YouTube channel has the name ‘26CeeJay98,’ which hints that he might have been born in 1998, making him 24 at the time of his death.
The Rapper’s Friends Pay their Tributes
The news of 26Ceejay’s death has shocked the hip-hop world. A number of his friends from the industry have now taken to social media to pay their tributes to the rapper. “Rest Up to My dawg Ceejay I wish dis never happened to you bra we was Thuggin in broward county Jail bro u was Cool den,” wrote rapper Benji Flex.
Young Money Juicy also expressed his grief and tweeted, “Damn Cee You Was My Lil Bra, Watched You Grow Up ,My Fam Is Yo Fam… I Grateful n Thank You For Giving Me My Flowers & How You Proud Of Me At The Barbershop While You Was Here Cause I Damn Show Gave You Yours Fam.”
Rapper J0HN THOO worte, “That’s crazy because I had gave you a shout out two months ago and plus I wanted to do some music with you. I never even gotten the chance to get to know you I wish I’ve could’ve done that and I regret it. My condolences goes to his family.”
