Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met British Monarch, Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle on Thursday while the couple was on their way to attend the Invictus Games in the Netherlands.
Ever since the couple decided to relocate to Montecito, California in March 2020, this is their first joint visit to the U.K. Harry has earlier visited twice to the UK.
In 2021, he came to the UK to attend the funeral of his grandfather Prince Philip in April and later again in the month of July to witness the unveiling of a statue in honor of his late mother, Princess Diana.
Prince Harry, Meghan meet the Queen for 1st time in the last two years
Two years back the Royal couple stepped back as senior members of the royal family. Their visit was confirmed by the spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. During their visit to the U.K., the couple did not bring their two kids along with them.
British journalist and writer, Omid Scobie tweeted, “A Sussex spokesperson confirms that, prior to arriving in The Hague for @InvictusGamesNL, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan stopped in the UK this morning to visit the Queen. It was a Windsor visit that their team recently revealed the duke hoped to do”.

Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014
Harry is the founder of the Invictus Games, the international sports competition. He established the company in the year 2014 for wounded service members and veterans. The event is held from 16th to 22nd April in the Dutch city of The Hague this year.
“As Archewell Productions’ first series with Netflix, in partnership with the Invictus Games Foundation, I couldn’t be more excited for the journey ahead or prouder of the Invictus community for continuously inspiring global healing, human potential, and continued service,” Harry has said of his debut as a television producer.
The event features veterans from more than 20 nations who were wounded and injured during their tenure. They will compete in a series of adaptive sports.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s alleged rift with the royal family
In 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were relieved from their royal duties over what the couple mentioned as the intrusion of the British media in their life and racist attitudes towards Markle.
There were several reports emerged in the media about the alleged rift after the couple gave a sensational interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The interview was viewed by more than 50 million across the globe. During the interview, Harry claimed that he had been financially cut off by his father, Prince Charles.
Harry stays in the US along with his wife and family. Unlike other high-profile royal family members, the Sussexes no longer get protection from England police.
