Ne-Yo’s divorce from Crystal Renay has been finalized in court. The Singer-songwriter will now be paying nearly $2 million in settlement to his ex-wife. The news comes just five months after Renay filed for divorce, accusing Ne-Yo of cheating.
The couple, who shares three children together, first got married in 2016 before splitting in 2020. However, they reconciled later and again tied the knot in April 2022. As per the divorce settlement, the two have agreed to have joint custody of their kids.
Ne-Yo to Pay Around $2 Million to Renay in Divorce Settlement
As per the court documents, the 43 year old singer will be paying around $1.6 million to Renay to account for their real estate holdings. He will pay an additional $20,000 for her moving expenses. Renay, 37, will get to keep one of their four estates in Georgia.
As per reports, Ne-Yo had decided to keep their 2022 Bentley Bentayga and will give $150,000 to his ex-wife so she can buy a new car for herself. Additionally, he has been asked to pay $12,000 a month in child support for their three children: Shaffer Jr., 6, Roman, 4, and Isabella, 1. He will also be bearing their education-related expenses.
In agreeing to the joint custody, both parties have also decided that they will not be having romantic partners around their minor children till the time they get engaged to marry. Otherwise, they will have to get a sign-off from each other. Finally, Renay will also be getting $5,000 a month in alimony from the Because of You singer.
Renay Announced Separation from Ne-Yo in August 2022
Ne-Yo and Renay have been on and off with each other in the last few years. After first getting married in February 2016, the two divorced each other in 2020. They then decided to give their relationship a second chance and rekindled their romance in quarantine during the Covid pandemic.
The two decided to get married again and said ‘I do’ in April last year. However, the marriage was short-lived, as just five months later, Renay confirmed that she was splitting from her husband with an emotional Instagram post. She accused Ne-Yo of cheating on her and wrote, “8 years of lies and deception.”
“8 years of unknowingly sharing my life and husband with numerous of women who sell their bodies to him unprotected… every last one of them! To say I’m heartbroken and disgusted is an understatement,” she further added.
“To ask me to stay and accept it is absolutely insane. The mentality of a narcissist. I will no longer lie to the public or pretend that this is something it isn’t. I choose me, I choose my happiness and health and my respect.”
“I gained 3 beautiful children out of this but nothing else but wasted years and heartache. If someone can’t love you the way you deserve, then it’s up to you to love yourself. With no hate in my heart, I wish him nothing but the best,” she concluded. Ne-Yo, however, chose to remain mum on the issue and asked for privacy at the time.
