Details Regarding The Gunshot…
Country Legend Naomi Judd took her own life at the age of 76 on April 30, 2022. The Grammy-winning star was known for her work as one half of the mother-daughter duo the Judds (Naomi and Wynonna) and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2021.
Previously, a report confirmed that Naomi took her own life and there was an ongoing investigation. The same was confirmed by her daughter Ashley Judd who asserted that her mother shot herself. Now, an autopsy report from the Nashville medical examiner’s office confirms that Judd died by suicide after being found “unresponsive in her home by family” at 10:57 a.m. local time on April 30.
It further narrates that she had an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, and she was transported to Williamson Medical Center where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Prescription Drugs For Bipolar Disorder And PTSD…
The toxicology report made some tragic revelations regarding Naomi’s condition. It indicated the presence of prescription drugs in the Judd matriarch’s system. Those medications are used to address post-traumatic stress, bipolar disorders, insomnia, anti-Parkinson, depression and seizures.
The award-winning country musician also had “what appears to be the words ‘suit case’” written in “faint pen ink on the palm of the left hand,” according to the medical examiner. She had a medical history of struggling with “significant” anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, chronic idiopathic pneumonitis, hepatitis C, hypertension, and hypothyroidism, the report adds.
The autopsy report revealed that Naomi has had prior suicidal ideations and recent life stressors. “A weapon and a note with suicidal connotations were found near the decedent at the scene.” Her daughter Ashley Judd confirmed on “Good Morning America” that her mother shot herself and the actress was the one who “discovered” her deceased.

A few weeks ago Ashley Judd, her sister Wynonna and Naomi’s husband Larry Strickland petitioned authorities to “seal the police reports related to her death”, with Strickland indicating he did not know the interviews were being recorded.
The legendary Country Music star had been open about her mental health struggles. In 2016, Naomi revealed in an interview that she had been facing “extreme” and “severe depression” that forced her into seclusion.
Naomi was a longtime ambassador for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and spoke about how she survived sexual abuse as a child, lived with severe depression, spent time in psychiatric hospitals and struggled with suicidal ideation.
Naomi released the book “River of Time: My Descent into Depression and How I Emerged with Hope in 2016 wherein she confessed that she once considered taking her own life by jumping off a bridge near her farm. While Naomi may be gone, her legacy lives on.
