What was the cause behind the death of Larry Myers Jr.?
According to his relatives, the TLC star Larry Myers Jr. who shot to fame after singing the song “Mr. Buttermilk Biscuits” at a chicken restaurant passed away on June 13. He died after suffering a heart attack.
The news of Larry’s demise was confirmed by his cousin Todd on the social media platform Facebook. On Saturday, Myers’ cousin Todd Darell shared, “Hey Facebook Family. It’s with great sorrow that we announce the passing of my dear cousin Larry Myers.”
Todd further added, “Many of you know him as Mr. Buttermilk Biscuits. If you can help us we would greatly appreciate it. Larry has fought the good fight. He has overcome some of the biggest Challenges he has ever had to face. Rest well Junior, you will be missed. Thanks and blessings to all. Please keep our family in your prayers.”
Larry Myers Jr. starred in the TLC’s show ‘My 600-Lb. Life’
Myers garnered the attention of the people when he appeared on season 10 of the TLC’s show My 600-Lb. Life. At that point in time, he starred in episode 13 titled “Larry’s Journey,” which showed him bedridden at 940 pounds.
Larry who was an aspiring gospel singer first underwent weight loss surgery nearly 5 years before filming the show. However, he ended up gaining 400 pounds back. During an episode of My 600-Lb. Life, he spilled the beans on some tragic events like losing his mom and nephew which led to bad habits like binge eating.
On the show, Myers said, “I eat to comfort myself. When I’m cooking, it’s the only time I’m happy, besides when I’m eating.” By the end of the episode, he had shed around 100 pounds.
While making a March 2022 appearance on the “Ricky Smiley Morning Show,” the musician disclosed that he had slimmed down to 300 pounds since filming the show but gained around 200 pounds while battling depression.
At that time, Myers stated that he would be undergoing another weight loss surgery as he wanted to be healthy again. In the last few years, he even shared pieces of his own healthy lifestyle on his Facebook page. He posted pictures of salads and boxes of Swiig supplements on his FB account. He also uploaded snaps of himself boxing.
