Tony Dow is fighting a battle against cancer
Not long ago, Tony and his wife Lauren gave a health update to his fans all over the world. As per the reports of TMZ, the Los Angeles Native and his wife Lauren said that they are heartbroken over the diagnosis and they were immensely thankful for all the prayers from the fans in advance.
The media outlet also reported that the couple did not reveal the type of cancer that the 77-year-old has been diagnosed with.
Dow was facing health issues in August 2021
According to TMZ, Tony was dealing with a few health issues in August of 2021. He was even rushed to a hospital while he was battling a case with pneumonia. He had to stay in the emergency room for a total of 24 hours due to a surge in the coronavirus Delta strain at the time.
His wife Lauren told the media outlet that Dow did not contract Covid-19 and he tested negative for the virus nearly five times. She said, ‘On behalf of Tony and myself we thank you for your concern for him.’
Tony is best known for playing the role of Wally Cleaver on Leave It to Beaver in all 234 episodes of the show from 1957 to 1963. Along with Dow, the show also starred Jerry Mathers, and late stars Hugh Beaumont, Barbara Billingsley, and Ken Osmond.
The Hollywood star reprised his role of Wally for the 1983 TV film Still the Beaver, a 1987 episode of The Love Boat and The New Leave It to Beaver TV series from 1983 to 1989. Along with this, he has also appeared in TV shows such as Lassie, Adam-12, Mod Squad, Knight Rider, Charles in Charge, and Murder, She Wrote.
