Benedict Cumberbatch and his family recently landed in trouble after a knife-wielding man broke into the London house of the Marvel star. The man threatened the Hollywood actor and his family.
According to a Daily Mail report, the chef who broke into Cumberbatch’s North London home is Jack Bissell, who previously worked as a chef at the Beaumont Hotel in Mayfair. Read on to know more about the scary incident.

Not long ago, a chef tried to attack Benedict Cumberbatch’s London home. It has been reported by the publication Daily Mail, that the 35-year-old Jack Bissell made his way into Benedict’s house via the front gate of the multi-million dollar property.
Jack allegedly kept yelling, “I know you’ve moved here, I hope it burns down.” At the time of the break-in, the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star, his wife Sophie Hunter, and the pair’s three sons: Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch, Hal Auden Cumberbatch, and Finn Cumberbatch were present inside the home. All of them could hear the intruder shouting outside.
As per a few reports, Bissell managed to get a hold of one of the family’s plants and he threw it against the garden wall. At one point in time, he tore the intercom off the building after spitting on it.
Did the cops arrest Jack Bissell?
Jack fled the scene before the cops arrived. Although, the police authorities were able to catch him due to the DNA evidence that he left on the intercom. The intruder was reportedly arrested by the cops. In addition to this, he was fined and granted a three-year restraining order from the Cumberbatch family.
A close source told the media outlet, “Naturally all of the family were absolutely terrified and thought this guy was going to get in and hurt them.” The insider further added, “Luckily, it never went that far. Benedict and Sophie have had many sleepless nights since worrying that they may be targeted again.”
They went on to say, “The fact that it was a targeted intrusion makes it a lot more scary.” During a trial that took place earlier this month, the prosecutors stated that Jack allegedly told a nearby shopkeeper that he was going to break-in the North London home of the movie star and burn it down.
Later, the former chef pleaded guilty and was sentenced on May 10. Up until this moment, the date of the terrifying incident has not been disclosed publicly.
As per the media outlet Daily Mail, the facts of the case could not be reported until they “successfully challenged blanket reporting restrictions this week.” At the moment, the connection between Jack and Benedict is unknown.
