Puneeth Rajkumar, the famous Kannada actor passed away after he suffered a massive heart attack today (Friday) morning on 29th October. Puneeth was rushed to the Vikram hospital in Bengaluru after the heart attack.
Dr. Ranganath Nayak said that the actor was complaining of chest pain when he was admitted in the morning around 11.30 am IST. He was non-responsive upon arrival at the hospital.
Given the huge fan following among his fans, the state government has issued an alert for all departments the police, and district authorities to ensure the law and order situation in the city is under control.

His sudden demise sent shockwaves across the film industry including Bollywood and Tollywood.
Famous Indian actors like Mohanlal, Kamal Haasan, Abhishek Bachchan, Jr NTR, Mahesh Babu, Chiranjeevi, Lakshmi Manchu, R Madhavan, Dulquer Salmaan, and Prithviraj Sukumaran among many others paid tribute and remembered him as “one of the kindest and noblest” actors from the Kannada film industry.
Popular Malayam actor Mohanlal took to his Twitter account and paid tributes to the late actor by writing, “The loss of Puneeth Rajkumar has come as a terrible shock. I still find the news hard to believe. It feels as though I have lost a younger brother. My thoughts & prayers go out to his family with whom I share a close bond. I wish them strength & comfort to cope with this loss.”

Puneeth, nicknamed by his close friends and family members as Appu is the youngest son of veteran Kannada actor Rajkumar. Puneeth began his career in acting as a child artist along with his father. He won the National Film Award under the Best Child Artist category for his performance as Ramu in Bettada Hoovu in the year 1985.
Puneeth performed in more than 29 Kannada films and delivered many commercially successful movies like Appu, Veera Kannadiga, Arasu, Raam, Raajakumara, and Anjani Putra.
Puneeth is survived by his wife Ashwini Revanth and two daughters, Drithi and Vanditha.
