Johnny Depp Calls Amber Heard a “Sociopath” on Day One of the Trial

The legal battle between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard seems to be getting uglier. The first hearing for the $50 million defamation suit filed by Depp against his ex-wife Amber Heard. The British courtroom was high on fire. Read on to know what happened in the courtroom and what did Depp testify.

On the day of Jury selection…

Day one of the three-week trial between the Pirates of the Caribbean star and the American actress Amber Heard began in Virginia with jury selection. The latest update states that seven jurors and four alternates have been picked up to hear Depp’s multi-million dollar case against his ex-wife.

However, the trial did not end here. The 58-year-old actor Johnny Depp couldn’t hold back his pain and exploded in the British courtroom. He referred to Amber Heard as a sociopath and denied claims of being a wife-beater.  Depp said in a written statement:

[Heard] said to the world that she was in fear of her life from me and I had been this horrible monster if you will. Which was not the case, I am now convinced that she came into my life to take from me anything worth taking and then destroy what remained of it…Amber severed my finger with the second of two thrown vodka bottles at me in the early afternoon of sunday, march 8.

Depp surely is in hot waters due to Amber’s allegation of domestic abuse in the Washington write-up. Although Amber did not name Depp, his attorneys state that her allegations have made it difficult for Depp to pursue his acting career.

The attorneys stated that he is unable to land roles like the ones he did in Pirates of the Caribbean, the Chocolate Factory, Drive Angry and Aquaman. The Golden Globe Award winner is also suing The Sun over a 2018 article that referred to him as a “wife-beater”.

The Sun hits back

The Sun’s lawyer, Sasha Wass has hit back on Depp’s past violence and notorious partying. She even asked Depp if he’d describe his behaviour as violent, Depp said that he was violent with some cupboards and nothing more.

He confessed that he was very upset with what Amber was doing to him. Well, The Sun’s lawyer has guaranteed in the court that the “The defendants will demonstrate that the description of Mr Depp as a ‘wife beater’ is entirely accurate and truthful.”

Johhny Testifies

There were five different courtrooms set for the proceedings because of social distancing concerns. Depps stood in the main courtroom as he was supposed to testify on day one. However, Amber Heard stayed out of sight in the public gallery.

Johnny Depp gave a detailed testimony via a written statement. If you read Depp’s testimony, you’d know that he hasn’t really hidden anything from the judge. From drugs to small violent incidents, Depp has poured his heart out. He stated:

“I have taken every drug known to a man by age 14 but I am not a monster who beat Heard or any other woman. It is inconceivable that I would ever hit a woman, my Southern upbringing taught me to respect females.”

When confronted by his past drug use, troubled childhood and hotel-trashing incident in New York, Depp admitted to the use of Cocaine, LSD,  ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms and pot. He said that they were the only things that he found to numb the pain.

However, Johnny denied having a “nasty, angry side” even when he was confronted about trashing a hotel room in New York when he was dating Kate Moss in 1994. Johnny has claimed in his written statement that Heard used him as a punching bag on a private jet and he was forced to hide in a bathroom.

Johnny’s camp introduced bloody photos of his severed right middle finger and photos of him lying on a stretcher. This reflected the fight Amber initiated a month after their marriage. Not just this, she even stubbed a cigarette on his cheek. He stated:

“Amber has a calculating, diagnosed borderline personality. “For example, at the time we met, she repeatedly told me how much she admired my films. However, later in our relationship, she admitted that she had never seen any of my films. She is sociopathic; she is a narcissist, and she is completely emotionally dishonest.”

Depp also stated that she cheated on him with Billy Bob Thornton, Elon Musk and James Franco. The 35-year-old actress has denied this allegation previously. He narrated how she or one of her friends put faeces in their bed, a prank Amber admitted before his estate manager, Kevin Murphy.

Other details of his testimony include his journey of becoming sober. He credited Elton John for helping him out. He also admitted to having spent money on expensive wines and firing Late writer Hunter S. Thompson’s ashes from a cannon (at the cost of $5 million).

Depp’s testimony is supported by witness testimony, photographs, video, audio recordings, digital evidence, medical records and his texts. Depp has straightway denied the “sick” allegations that he ever physically hurt Amber and called them “untrue”.

What happens next?

Heard hasn’t testified yet but the “Never Back Down” star also has a lot of things in her bucket to hit back at Johnny. However, fans have shown tremendous support for Depp stating that amber is a woman who has been misusing the law against Depp.

The Aquaman star was previously arrested for Domestic Violence against former partner Tasya van Ree. Amber was trolled recently for disabling her social media. Fans started tweeting with #Justicefor Johhny Depp.  Nevertheless, she is expected to testify during the three-week trial.

There is news that Depp’s former partners Winona Ryder and Vanessa Paradis may also give statements in support of the 58-year-old actor. What do you think about Depp’s testimony? Keep reading because the remaining trial is going to get even more uglier.

  1. As an ACON, not remotely surprised. Had a hunch the moment Amber started making public accusations, actually. I’m sorry that Depp has the misfortune of dealing with someone on the cluster-B spectrum, but lucky him that he has the money, influence, and the presumption of innocence to actually fight it. Must be nice.

  2. Nobody: I thought the same thing. I was married for ten years to a person with a cluster-B personality disorder, and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. The chaos, the terror, all special occasions destroyed, constant walking on eggshells. Uggh. For anyone who is trying to leave a relationship like this, I strongly suggest seeing a therapist who understands cluster-B disorders, and I also suggest reading the book “Splitting” by Bill Eddy and Randi Kreger. I got out safely, and you can, too. Don’t waste another day of your life. I stayed 9 years and 364 days too long!

    • I’m so glad to hear you got out and reclaimed your life! It’s an absolutely brutal situation to extract yourself from and I hope you find as much happiness as you can in life, especially after going through that for so long!

  3. I am sick and tired of seeing these constant comments and ridicule against people who have personality disorders. (Suffer from past trauma) In my opinion you have no idea or understand the true meaning of it so just STOP! Unless you have gone through something traumatic in your life, then I would think you’d understand that much and would keep your judgemental shit to yourself.

  4. Umm, everyone eventually goes through trauma, most people fall victim to something, but yeah we get it, your THE victim…Get a life
