Fashion icon Jane Birkin is no longer with us! At the time of her demise, the prolific actress and singer was 76 years old. As of this moment, the cause behind her death has not been revealed publicly. In the last couple of years, she has dealt with a few health issues. She suffered a stroke in 2021.

Birkin was well-known by many fans for her musical collaborations with the French actor and singer Serge Gainsbourg. Back in the day, the two of them fell in love and became a topic of discussion among viewers.

Jane and Serge even joined hands for their smashing hit single called Je T’Aime… Moi Non Plus which saw the light of day in the year 1969. The exes dated for almost 13 years.

Jane Birkin was an actress and singer who was born on December 14, 1946, in Marylebone, London, to Judy Campbell and David Birkin. Her mom Judy was also an actress by profession, meanwhile, her dad David was a Royal Navy lieutenant commander and World War II spy.

Birkin was brought up in Chelsea and she referred to herself as a “shy English girl”. In an earlier media interaction, she stated that while growing up she was bullied for her looks. Then, she said, “I suffered a lot because of my physique, especially at boarding school. The others said I was half boy, half girl. I had no breasts, not even a developing bosom. It was horrible.”

When we talk about Jane’s educational qualifications, she attended Miss Ironside’s School in Kensington. Soon after, she went to the Upper Chine School in Ryde on the Isle of Wright.

Birkin stepped into the world of entertainment as an actress. She garnered the attention of the people when she traveled to Paris to work on the movie Slogan. At that point, she was only 20 years old. She and Serge met each other on the set of the French film Slogan. Their song Je T’Aime… Moi Non Plus became a massive hit.
