McCarthy went on to say, “She has returned home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers. We will have no further comment at this time.”

A statement from the end of the Congresswoman’s office also stated that two staffers had also been killed in the car crash. Tim Cummings, the congresswoman’s chief of staff put out the statement that revolved around the death of the two staffers.

When did Jackie step into the world of politics?

Jacqueline R. Walorski was born on August 17, 1963, in South Bend, Indiana, the U.S. She was brought up with her two elder brothers in the city’s Gilmer Park neighborhood. Her mother, Martha C. worked as a meat cutter at a local grocery store, meanwhile, her dad Raymond B. Walorski was a firefighter and also owned an appliance store.

Walorski went to Hay Elementary School and graduated from Riley High School in the year 1981. Soon afterward, she enrolled at Liberty Baptist College, and then, later on, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and public administration from Taylor University in 1985.

Jackie ran for a seat in 2004 in the Indiana House of Representatives after incumbent Republican State Representative Richard W. Mangus decided to retire. She ran for Indiana’s 2nd District, which included the suburban area between South Bend and Elkhart. At that point, she ended up defeating Democrat Carl H. Kaser.

Then, Walorski won a second term in 2006 with 53% of the vote and she also won the third term in 2008. During her tenure in the Indiana House, she served as a sponsor of Indiana’s Voter ID law, which required the voters to present government-issued identification during in-person voting.

When we talk about Jackie’s final election, she won the 2022 Republican primary for the 2nd Congressional District uncontested.

The statement continued, “We may have represented different parties and disagreed on many issues, but she was respected by members of both parties for her work on the House Ways and Means Committee on which she served.

Biden concluded by saying, “She also served as co-chair of the House Hunger Caucus, and my team and I appreciated her partnership as we plan for a historic White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health this fall that will be marked by her deep care for the needs of rural America.” He also offered his deepest condolences to Jackie’s husband Dean and the families of the other two staff members.
