Gregg Leakes, Husband of NeNe Leakes has died after battling cancer for a long time at the age of 66.
The businessman appeared alongside NeNe Leakes on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”. His death news has been confirmed by his family’s publicist Ernest Dukes.
Dukes in his statement said, “Today the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart. After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones and wife NeNe Leakes. We ask that you pray for peace and strength over their family and allow them to mourn in private during this very, very difficult time.”
Gregg Leakes was not just a reality TV personality but was also a real estate investor.

Gregg Leakes who was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer has been battling with it on and off since May 2018. His wife NeNe revealed his cancer battle to the public in June 2018 by sharing their ‘new normal’ life in a doctor’s office.
However, later in 2019, Gregg recovered from cancer, and the same was confirmed by NeNe saying that he was cancer-free.
While speaking about his cancer battle in May 2020, Gregg had said, “2 years ago today I was told I had cancer. I remember being sad inside but I knew I had to be strong on the outside as much as I could… I thank my wife for taking excellent care of me and loving me even tho I wasn’t an easy patient.”
Unfortunately, NeNe shared in June 2021 that Gregg has been caught with cancer again. In a video interview with The Jasmine Brand, Nene shared then, “I’d love everybody to pray for Gregg. That would be beautiful: Pray for his strength.” She further said, “And pray for me, too.”
Recently in August, NeNe at her Atlanta bar, The Linnethia revealed that Gregg was “transitioning to the other side” in his battle with cancer.
Andy Cohen, the executive producer of the “Real Housewives” franchise, took to his Twitter handle and shared his condolence message for Gregg.
He wrote, “I am heartbroken over the passing of Gregg Leakes, a wonderful man. I jokingly called him ‘Pastor Leakes’ but in truth he was a strong voice of reason and commanded great respect among the ‘RHOA’ team. I am sending love and strength to NeNe Leakes and the entire Leakes family.”

Cynthia Bailey, actor of ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ also shared a heartfelt condolence message for Gregg.
She shared a picture of him and Gregg and wrote, “Heartbroken. So many good times & so many amazing memories. Gregg was always so loving, funny & kind. So blessed to have had him in my life. Sending my heartfelt condolences to NeNe Leakes and her family. Thinking of you & my heart and prayers are with you.”

Gregg and NeNe tied the knot in the year 1997 and got separated in 2011. After completing the filming of Season 4 of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”, the couple took divorce. But, after their reconciliation, they remarried in 2013.
NeNe Leakes was featured as the main cast member of the reality show “Real Housewives of Atlanta” . Her husband Gregg was seen sharing screen space with her in over 80 episodes of the show between 2008-2019.
