Floyd Mayweather vs John Gotti III Exhibition Match Ends in a Brawl

Mayweather, who has a 50-0 unbeaten record in professional boxing, took on late American crime boss John Gotti’s grandson Gotti III at the FLA Live Arena in Florida on Sunday. He dominated the first three rounds, however, things got a little serious in the fourth round when the two boxers got into an argument.

The tussle became heated in the subsequent round. In the sixth round, the referee decided to stop the fight. However, Gotti decided to ignore the decision and continued to throw punches at Mayweather. The 46-year-old boxing legend’s team then entered the ring, and so did Gotti’s camp. This led to a brawl in the ring between the two teams.

Soon the spectators also got involved and the fight even reached backstage. The police were then called, who cleared the venue and threatened to press charges against anyone who did not cooperate.

Gotti Lashed Out at Mayweather on Social Media

After the chaos, Gotti took to Instagram to take shots at Mayweather and declared him his ‘biggest enemy.’ He posted a video of the brawl and wrote, “Punk b–ch Floyd Mayweather, you my enemy for life.”

The 30-year-old then posted another story that read, “Bum never put me down or stopped me. It was a DQ for no reason.” He even involved Mayweather’s longtime rival Conor McGregor in the whole drama and wrote, “We need backup,” tagging the boxer.

McGregor has now responded to the request and tweeted, “I back the Gotti’s. The war is on.” Gotti is a professional boxer with a track of 2-0. He previously fought in MMA from 2017 to 2022.

This was Mayweather’s Seventh Exhibition Fight

Mayweather fought his last professional match in August 2017 defeating McGregor and retired from boxing with an unbeaten record of 50-0. However, he has continued to be a part of exhibition matches, the outcomes of which do not affect his track record.

The fight with Gotti was his seventh exhibition bout. After the fight, Mayweather took to social media to post a video and said, “That’s why they pay the big bucks because I put on a show.” The boxer will have his next special pay-per-view exhibition bout against MTV star Aaron Chalmers on February 25th, 2023.
