In a tragic turn of events, Flo Rida’s 6-year-old son fell off the window of a fifth-floor apartment in New Jersey at the beginning of the month. The child, Zohar P. Dillard, has sustained serious injuries and is currently in an intensive care unit.
Zohar was born in 2016 to Flo Rida and his then-girlfriend Alexis Adams. He has been living with his mother all these years and is said to have very little contact with the rapper. Adams has now filed a lawsuit against the building authorities. Meanwhile, the Low rapper has not yet commented on his son’s condition.
Flo Rida’s 6-year-old Son Falls Out of Apartment Window
Zohar has suffered multiple serious injuries, including ‘multiple pelvis fractures, left metatarsal fractures, a grade-three liver laceration, internal bleeding and collapsed lungs.’ Adams has sued the landlord of her New Jersey apartment building, claiming that the ‘building had faulty windows that posed a hazardous condition.’
The lawsuit reads, “As a single mom to a special needs child, this feels like a nightmare. My heart is broken into a million pieces. I am devastated, angry and struggling to come to terms with the fact that my only child has suffered severe injuries due to willful negligence of our landlord and others involved in failing to take necessary safety measures.”
“It is devastating to see my child go through such pain and trauma knowing this could all be prevented. My son could have died! I wish I could take away his pain. … I hope no other family has to go through a similar tragedy,” Alexis said in the court document, adding she is grateful that Zohar is still alive.
Zohar was Diagnosed with Hydrocephalus Shortly After Birth
The child was born in September 2016 and was soon diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition ‘caused by an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) within cavities of the brain called ventricles, resulting in pressure on the brain.’ Alexis claims Zohar has had little contact with his rapper father since then.
“Flo Rida has only seen his son once during the paternity test but kept his shades on and his back turned. They were in the same room. He didn’t try to hug Zohar, nothing. It was very cold,” Alexis said in an interview in 2018. Earlier in 2017, she sued the 43 year old rapper for not paying child support and only covering his medical insurance.
“Even after Zohar’s surgery, he hasn’t reached out to find out if he’s OK. I find it strange because Flo Rida is always involved in charities pertaining to kids,” she said at the time. In 2020, Alexis once again talked about Flo Rida’s aversive treatment of Zohar.
“Since paternity, he has not acknowledged Zohar at all, still to this day. Even when we did have the paternity test, and this just shows you the kind of person that he is, Wendy Williams’ production team reached out to his attorney after paternity was established and they still put out a statement about ‘allegedly.’ That should show people right there,” she revealed.
