Later on, he told the media outlet, that Armstrong died by suicide. She was reportedly sober for more than 18 months and then, she recently had a relapse.
At the time of her passing, the pioneering mommy blogger was 47 years old. On her website Dooce.com, she spilled the beans on her struggles as a parent and her battles with depression and alcoholism.

In the year 2009, Armstrong was named in Forbes’ annual list of the 30 most influential women in media. She founded her site Dooce in the early 2000s. At that time, her website was a place for her to vent her thoughts about her work, personal relationships, kids, and other challenges.
According to BBC, the mommy blogger was fired from her job as a web designer in Los Angeles in 2002 after she gave some nicknames to her colleagues like That One Co-worker Who Manages to Say Something Stupid Every Time He Opens His Mouth was found to be hers on her snarky blog.

She restarted her site 6 months later as a different blog after she became pregnant that year.
