Moonshiners star Craig Landry has suffered serious injuries after a unicycle accident. The actor crashed his electric unicycle last week near his home in New Iberia and ended up getting injuries on his face, hands, and jaw.
Craig’s brother Richard confirmed the development. The documentary star spent a few days in the hospital and is now recovering at home. He is expected to stay away from work for some time now. The news comes just two months after another Moonshiners star Josh Owens had a motorcycle crash.
Craig Landry Hospitalized After Unicycle Crash
Craig was driving around on his electric unicycle in Louisiana last week. Soon he crashed into the neighborhood and was found in a knocked-out condition by some women, who called the paramedics. The actor was airlifted to University Medical Center in New Orleans. He then underwent surgery to get his broken jaw repaired.
It is not yet clear what went wrong with the unicycle. Richard says that his brother was not under the influence during the accident. He is said to be suffering from high blood pressure, which might have made him unconscious during the trip.
The 49-year-old actor is now at his home and still has a long way to recover. Richard says he is hopeful about Craig’s complete recovery and has thanked fans for their support. He also revealed that his brother will have to undergo a few more surgeries on his face. Meanwhile, the actor will remain missing in action from work for a few months.
A GoFundMe has been Organized for Craig
Craig’s manager Lauren Edge has now started a GoFundMe campaign to help fund his treatment. “On the evening of April 24, 2023, Craig was involved in a very serious accident resulting in him being airlifted to University Medical Center in New Orleans Louisiana where it was found that he suffered multiple broken bones to his face, jaw, hand, and broken teeth.”
“Craig will be unable to work for the foreseeable future while he fights to recover. Anyone that has ever met Craig knows what a kind hearted, sincere, and genuine person he is. This unfortunate event is truly devastating and will effect him for years to come.”
“I am asking our Moonshiner’s community and all who know and love Craig to come together and help in any way possible if you can. No donation is too small and every penny will be greatly appreciated.” The campaign has so far raised $6400.
Josh Owens was Involved in a Motorcycle Crash in March
In March, Craig’s co-star Josh Owens was also involved in a scary motorcycle crash. He was said to have broken his neck, back, arm, and legs at the time. The incident took place on March 4th, during a race t Florida’s Daytona International Speedway.
The actor shared a picture from his hospital bed at the time and wrote, “Thank yall for all the love ❤️ and support.” Owens has been in recovery ever since.
