Theodore “Ted” Kaczynski, well-known by many as the so-called ‘Unabomber’ has died. He passed away at the age of 81. He took his last breaths on Saturday, June 10, 2023, in a federal prison medical center in Butner, N.C.

Theodore J. Kaczynski, who attacked businessmen and random civilians with homemade bombs during the period 1978 to 1995, has died. At the time of his passing, he was 81 years old.
As of this moment, the exact reason behind Ted’s demise has not been revealed. However, it has been reported by the media outlet, The New York Times, that three people well-versed with the situation stated that he died by suicide.
For those of you who are unaware, let us share with you, Ted killed 3 people and injured 35 during a mass mail-bombing spree between 1978 and 1995. Later on, he was found guilty of his crimes.
In the year 1996, the Harvard-trained mathematician was sentenced to life without parole post evading capture for nearly 2 decades. Ultimately, he was caught by the police authorities in a Montana cabin. Over the years, he became the subject of many documentaries.

The full name of Ted Kaczynski was Theodore John Kaczynski. He was an American mathematician and domestic terrorist. He was born on May 22, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, United States, to working-class parents Wanda Theresa and Theodore Richard Kaczynski.
When we talk about Ted’s parents, both of them were Polish Americans who were brought up as Roman Catholics but later on they became atheists. The two of them tied the knot on April 11, 1939.
From the age of 6 to 9, Kaczynski attended Sherman Elementary School in Chicago. In the year 1952, he and his family shifted to suburban Evergreen Park, Illinois. Then, he went to Evergreen Park Central Junior High School.
At that point in time, Ted scored 167 on an I.Q. test. In 1996, a former classmate said of Kaczynski, “He was never really seen as a person, as an individual personality … He was always regarded as a walking brain, so to speak.”
Soon after, the Chicago native became more interested in mathematics. He would spend hours studying and solving advanced problems. During his high school days, he was ahead of his classmates academically. He was one of his school’s five National Merit finalists and was encouraged to apply to Harvard University.
As per his biography which emerged after his arrest, Kaczynski entered Harvard at the age of 16. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from Harvard in 1962. Then, he enrolled at the University of Michigan and bagged his masters’ and doctoral degrees in mathematics in 1964 and 1967 respectively.
By the age of 25, Ted became an assistant professor at the University of California, Berkeley. Then, he quit his job at the renowned university. From 1971 to the day of his arrest, he lived in a shack that he built himself in Montana.
