Robert Lane Saget, an American stand-up comedian, passed away on January 9, 2022. And as per the statement from his family, he had died due to head trauma.
Saget Died in his hotel room in FloridaÂ
The comedian was found dead last month in the hotel room of the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida. Saget had been in the same area as his hotel for a performance just the night before.
When Saget hadn’t checked out the next morning, a security officer of the hotel had entered his room. The moment he realised Saget was immobile, he informed 911. And when the deputies and medics arrived at the scene, Saget was officially pronounced dead.
During that time, the chief medical examiner involved had said that the cause and manner of the actor’s death were yet to be confirmed. “At this time, there is no evidence of drug use or foul play”, Joshua Stephany (the medical examiner) said giving his statement to CNN.
But recently, Saget’s family passed a statement with regard to the same.
The family’s statement clarified that the comedian hadn’t been drinking or consuming any drugs. “The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma. They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved”, the statement said.

The 65-year old, Full House star’s family also expressed their gratitude towards the love and support they were getting. In the statement about the cause of his death, Saget’s family also addressed this.
The family’s statement claimed how grateful they were for “the incredible outpouring of love from Bob’s fans” and how that has helped comfort them. “As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter”, the statement concluded.
Saget was married to Kelly Rizzo and is survived by three daughters from his previous marriage besides his wife.
A month before his demise, Saget had been tested positive for Covid-19. But Rizzo had reassured the public by saying that his health was just fine.
Last month, Rizzo had also talked with the hosts of the Today Show about her very last conversation with her husband. “I think I said, ‘I love you dearly,’ and he said, ‘I love you endlessly”, the journalist reminisced. “I said, ‘I can’t wait to see you tomorrow.’ And then, you know, it was just all very — it was just all love”, she said.
