Baltimore Ravens Linebacker Jaylon Ferguson Dies at 26, Cause of Death Unknown

Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Jaylon Ferguson is no longer with us. He passed away at the age of 26. Our hearts go out to the friends and family of the player.

The news of Jaylon’s death was shared by his team

The Baltimore Ravens announced the news of Jaylon’s passing away on Wednesday morning. The team issued a statement that read, “We are profoundly saddened by the tragic passing of Jaylon Ferguson.”

They further added, “He was a kind, respectful young man with a big smile and infectious personality. We express our heartfelt condolences to Jaylon’s family and friends as we mourn a life lost much too soon.”

As of now, the cause of Jaylon’s death has not been revealed. We must say he was a great player and he made his mark in the world of football.

A little bit about Jaylon’s football career

Jaylon O’Neal Ferguson was born on December 14, 1995, in Zachary, Louisiana. He went to West Feliciana High School in St. Francisville, Louisiana, where he played basketball and football for almost four years. He was an American football outside linebacker and defensive end of the National Football League (NFL).

The 26-year-old was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft.  He was put on the reserve list due to a hamstring injury on July 19, 2019. His name was removed from the list after two days.

Ferguson made his NFL debut on September 22, 2019, and he was able to get 18 snaps against the Kansas City Chiefs. He made his first NFL start on November 3 against the New England Patriots.  He was popularly known as Known as “Sack Daddy” coming out of Louisiana Tech, he holds the FBS record for career sacks with 45.

As soon as the news of Jaylon’s passing away came out, the fans couldn’t stop themselves from paying tributes to the great football player on the social media platform Twitter.

Another user tweeted, “It’s crazy out here what is going on RIP Caleb Swanigan and Jaylon Ferguson.”

Followed by a user who penned, “Yeesh. The NFL has lost a lot of young lives this offseason. Rest in Power Jaylon Ferguson”

One user tweeted, “What the actual fuck. This guy worked so hard to try and become a great player for this team and he was praised for how much he trained and played hard. This is so fucking sad…RIP Jaylon Ferguson.”

Another user tweeted, “We’ve had about 5 NFL players pass on before the season kicks off. Not sure what’s going on this off season but shit ain’t right R.I.P Jaylon Ferguson”
