Former Bachelorette contestant Will Urena has revealed that he had a harrowing experience during his recent visit to Colombia. The 30 year old said that he was drugged and brutally attacked on the trip.
The reality TV star was also robbed of all his belongings. Urena shot to fame with his appearance on the 18th season of ABC’s The Bachelorette in 2021. Read on to know all about his dreadful experience.
Will Urena Reveals Being Attacked and Robbed in Colombia
Will took to his Instagram stories on Tuesday to share the incident with his followers. “Sorry to all those I haven’t been able to message back. While in Colombia l was drugged, beaten, and robbed of all my belongings. These past few days have been something I could have never imagined,” he wrote.
“Thank you for all those reaching out with kind words. I really appreciate y’all beyond words. I am slowly working to get my life back to normal. I am just beyond grateful to still be here. God is good!” he added. Just a few days ago, Will had posted a picture from the streets of Medellín, Colombia. “Colombia 🇨🇴 Diablo, Que Chimba!,” he captioned the post.
However, it is not yet known in which city the incident took place. The reality contestant doubled down on his thoughts in another Instagram story on Wednesday. He wrote, “These things are real and can happen to anyone, so please be careful when you are traveling.”
Will Gets Support from Bachelorette Co-Star Brandon Jones
After Will shared the details of the incident, his fellow Bachelorette star Brandon Jones took to social media to send him strength. “Just happy my brother is back home and safe,” Jones wrote, sharing a picture with his friend. The two share a great friendship and have often been seen in each other’s social media posts.
Will’s followers also prayed for his recovery in their comments. “I now saw ur status I do pray for heal and recovery in Jesus name,” wrote a fan. Another commented, “Mannn, sorry to hear what you went through during this trip. Healing thoughts and prayers sent to you.”
“I’m sorry for what happen to you. Thank god you made it home safely. Prayers to you,” penned an Instagram follower, and another commented, “@illmaticwill Sending you prayers ❤️🙏🏽, love and healing. Please get better soon.”
Will Participated in Michelle Young’s Season of The Bachelorette
Will is known for appearing on Michelle Young’s season of The Bachelorette in 2021. He is an academic interventionist by profession and works with autistic students at an elementary school.
He entered the reality show saying that he wanted ‘make a substantial connection with someone’ as he was ‘very tired of being the only single one in his group of friends.’ He was eliminated from the show during the fourth week. Young went on to get engaged to Nayte Olukoya. However, the couple went their separate ways last year.
