Adele Warns Fans Against Throwing Things Onstage During Her Performance
The 35-year-old was performing at her Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace on Saturday when she addressed the recent assaults on singers. Adele moved around the stage carrying a canon to throw T-shirts into the crowd, and meanwhile, made it clear that only she has the right to toss things into the crowd, and not vice versa.
The video of the incident shows the Hello singer asking the audience, “Have you noticed how people are forgetting f—king show etiquette at the moment and just throwing s–t onstage?” She then warned her fans by stating, “Have you seen that? I f – – king dare you, I dare you to throw something at me. I’ll f – – king kill you.”
Several Artists Have Been Attacked by Concert-Goers in the Last Few Days
Adele’s comments come at a time when there has been a sudden increase in attacks on performing artists from audience members. Just last week, singer Bebe Rexha was hit by a cell phone hurled by a fan during her concert in New York City and had to be rushed to the hospital, where she received stitches on her face.
The rest of the show had to be canceled at the time. The assailant, Nicolas Malvagna, 27, stated to the police that he thought throwing his phone would be ‘funny’. He was charged with assault and aggravated harassment.
Last week, Ava Max faced a similar situation when an audience member went on the stage and slapped her. The 29-year-old singer sustained an eye injury but continued with her performance. A few days later, pop star Pink was shocked when a fan tossed a bag of his mother’s ashes toward the singer during her London concert.
Adele is Known for Banter with Fans at Her Residency
Adele’s warning does not come as a surprise as she is known to have fun banters with the attendees at her residency. In March, she had a discussion with her fans about Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and told them, “If anyone is going to see Taylor tomorrow, I’m f—g jealous. You know I love her.”
A few days ago, the Rolling in the Deep singer asked fans to explain ‘Scandoval’ to her, the love-triangle controversy involving Vanderpump Rules stars Tom Sandoval, Raquel Leviss, and Ariana Madix. Recently, Adele also questioned concert-goers about their thoughts on the Oceangate submarine tragedy.
