Tony’s Management Issues Fresh Statement
A new statement has been posted on Tony Dow’s official Facebook page. It says that the actor is critical but still alive. The statement reads, “URGENT UPDATE: This morning Tony’s wife Lauren, who was very distraught, had notified us that Tony had passed and asked that we notify all his fans. As we are sure you can understand, this has been a very trying time for her.”
“We have since received a call from Tony’s daughter-in-law saying that while Tony is not doing well, he has not yet passed. Tony’s son Christopher and his daughter-in-law Melissa have also been by his side comforting him, and we will keep you posted on any future updates,” the statement further reads.
Tony’s son Christopher Dow has also released a statement saying his father is in his last hours, under hospice care. He said, “This is a difficult time. Yes, he is still alive, but in his last hours, under hospice care.”
Lauren Thought Tony to be Dead After He Suffered Some Health Issues Last Night
It is being reported that Lauren inferred that Tony had passed away based on some health issues he suffered overnight. She shared the news with people close to her, and then it quickly spread.
ABC Reporter George Pennacchio has said that he talked to Lauren about the whole fiasco. He said, “I had a conversation with his wife, Lauren. She is understandably distraught and grief-stricken about what’s been going on with Tony’s health battle these past months.”
“He’s been in hospice care at their home, and based on some health issues overnight, Lauren inferred that Tony had passed away to some people close to her and the word quickly spread. Lauren admits she’s been ‘a little fuzzy’ these days – understandable. She told me she now feels ‘foolish’ about what has transpired since his death has been reported around the world,” he added.
The Actor’s Death was Mistakenly Announced on his Official Facebook Page
On Tuesday morning, a statement was issued on Tony’s official Facebook page announcing his death. The statement read, “It is with an extremely heavy heart that we share with you the passing of our beloved Tony this morning. Tony was a beautiful soul – kind, compassionate, funny and humble.” The post has now been taken down.
The Leave it to Beaver actor has been suffering from liver cancer for some time now. He had beaten the disease twice in his life. However, the illness returned a few months back, which was revealed by his wife on his Facebook page in May this year.
“Dear friends and fans of Tony Dow, I have some very sad news to share with you. Unfortunately, Tony has once again been diagnosed with cancer. He is approaching this reality so bravely, but it is truly heartbreaking. We want to thank you in advance for your caring thoughts. Our Love, Lauren & Tony,” she had written at the time.
