Actor Hugh Jackman Tested Positive for Covid-19

Actor Hugh Jackman is the latest celebrity who has been tested positive for COVID-19.

The Grammy Award-winning actor announced that he has tested positive for the coronavirus by taking it to his social media handles of Twitter as well as Instagram.

The 53-year old actor took to his official Instagram handle on Tuesday, December 28, and shared a video as he revealed that he has been contracted the deadly virus.

Sharing the video on Instagram, he captioned it by writing, “I just wanted to make sure you heard this from me. I tested positive for covid. Mild symptoms and looking forward to getting back on stage ASAP! Sending love for a happy and healthy new year.”

In the video shared by the actor, he revealed his symptoms. He informed his fans that he has symptoms like a scratchy throat and runny nose. He also revealed that he would be back on stage as soon as he recovers.

He said, “My symptoms are like a cold. I have a scratchy throat and a bit of a runny nose, but I’m fine.”

He further said, “And I’m just gonna do everything I can to get better ASAP. And as soon as I’m cleared, I’ll be back on stage, heading to River City. Please stay safe, Be healthy, be kind.”

As of now, all performances of Broadway’s The Music Man that features Jackman in the lead have been canceled as the lead star has tested positive for Covid-19.

Last week, Jackman’s co-star Sutton Foster got tested positive for the novel coronavirus following which she was replaced by an understudy. And this week, it is the Jackman himself.

Well, it is expected that Foster will return by 2nd January whereas Jackman is expected to return by 6th January.

Hugh Jackman features in the Broadway musical, “The Music Man” that premiered on the 20th of December.

According to the musical’s Twitter update, all performances of Broadway’s The Music Man have been canceled till 1st January.

The group will make its comeback on Sunday, 2nd January, and perform at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York.

The Twitter page of The Music Man on Broadway shared, “All performances of Broadway’s The Music Man are canceled through January 1. All tickets can be refunded or exchanged at point of purchase. Performances will resume on Sunday, January 2. Sending you warm wishes for the New Year from the entire company of The Music Man.”

Well, it has to be noted that ticket holders will get reimbursement for the Christmas season performances of the musical. Because of the Covid-19 concerns, the performance of December 25 and December 26 matinée had to be called off.
