ABC News has announced the new hosts for GMA3: What You Need to Know four months after the ousted of Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, who were asked to leave after following their alleged affair became public.
Eva Pilgrim and DeMarco Morgan will now be joining the show as the new anchors, along with the current host, ABC News chief health and medical correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton. GMA3, which premiered in 2018, is an afternoon spin-off of the morning show Good Morning America.

Announcing the new hosts, ABC News President Kim Godwin said in a statement, “I am incredibly proud of the reporting Eva, DeMarco, and Gio have brought to ABC News. They join their colleagues Whit, Janai, and Dr. Jen whose steadfast commitment to bold, straightforward journalism has been integral to their respective programs’ success.”
Pilgrim, 40, had been working as the co-host of Good Morning America Saturday and Sunday since 2018. Gio Benitez will now be stepping into her shoes for the weekend programs. Morgan, meanwhile, is relatively new to ABC, having joined the network only last year. He previously worked for CBS.
Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes’ Affair was Exposed in November 2022
Robach, 50, and Holmes, 45, who were both married to different individuals, made news due to their affair in November last year. The romance was exposed when some cozy pictures of the two surfaced online. Following the scandal, they were temporarily replaced by Gio Benitez and Stephanie Ramos in December 2022.
“Amy and T.J. have been arriving to work pretending like everything is normal, they have been carrying on like they would any other day. The GMA staff, for the most part, all knew that something was happening between Amy and T.J.,” a source revealed at the time.
“They were always playful with each other, like two people who were dating. Amy and T.J. didn’t seem like they were trying to keep their relationship secret anymore, everyone around the office could tell there was a spark between them for many months,” the insider added.
The Two Former Anchors were Ousted from GMA3 in January
After the controversy, Godwin released a statement to the editorial staff at ABC in December: “It’s become an internal and an external distraction, the relationship between two of our colleagues.”
“While the relationship is not a violation of company policies, I have taken the last few days to think through what I think is best for our organization. For now, I’m going to take Amy and T.J. off the air while we figure this out.” Robach and Holmes were officially removed from GMA3 in January this year.
“After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, about different options, we all agreed it’s best for everyone that they move on from ABC News. We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions,” an ABS spokesperson said at the time.
