Jane Schneck, the mother of singer Nick Carter and the late Aaron Carter, was arrested on the charge of battery last Friday in Florida. The 64-year-old has been accused of domestic battery after an altercation with her husband that turned physical.
The fight reportedly took place over the volume of the Television at their home, which was being watched by the Schneck, while her husband was trying to sleep. The complainant called the police after the altercation, following which his wife was taken into custody.
Aaron and Nick Carter’s Mother Arrested for Domestic Battery
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office has revealed that the incident took place on the evening of April 28th. Schneck was watching television while her husband was getting bothered by its volume and was having trouble sleeping. Meanwhile, both had spent the evening drinking.
After a verbal spat between the two over the volume of the TV, a physical altercation took place. During the heated exchange, Schneck grabbed her husband’s wrist. The action was recorded by the man on his phone camera. He then called the police and checked the video of the altercation.
Schneck was arrested by the police on the spot. She was later released from prison on a $100 bond. Her next court hearing date has not been revealed yet. Meanwhile, her husband was not injured in the incident and did not have to go to a hospital.
Schneck was Charged with Battery Previously as well
This is not the first time that Nick and Aaron’s mother has been arrested for domestic battery. She faced a similar legal problem almost two decades back in 2004 when she attacked her estranged husband, Robert Gene Carter’s girlfriend, Ginger Elrod.
In January 2004, Schneck broke into her estranged husband’s house after breaking its window with a rock. She then headed to his bedroom and dragged his girlfriend out of the bed by pulling her hair. She also smashed her with a television remote. At the time, Elrod was granted a restraining order against Schneck, but she decided not to press charges.
Nick Carter is also Facing Legal Troubles
The news of Schneck’s arrest comes when her son, Nick, is also having a tough time with the law. The 43-year-old singer has been accused of sexual assault by former Dream singer Melissa Schuman, who claimed that Nick forcefully performed oral sex on her in 2003. She first made the allegations in November 2017.
“I’ve faced extraordinary backlash for standing up for myself; I am not the first, however, my intention is that I am the last. It’s time that powerful figures in the music industry get the message that they can no longer afford to enable and protect sexual predators,” Schuman said in a statement.
In December 2022, another woman named Shannon Ruth accused Nick of raping her in 2001. The singer then filed a countersuit against the two women, alleging defamation and extortion. The Backstreet Boys singer claimed that the complainants were involved in a conspiracy against him.
